It's not all that hard. There's just a ton of breeding (which is annoying) to get the right natures, which in turn yield the right stat combinations. And not wasting value IVs trying to make a pok?mon a double sweeper, because it just doesn't work. My team's actually a bit unbalanced since Petra and Metagoros are my physical sweepers on there and I have four special sweepers. It actually needs an HP tank or two (Hapinasu would be lovely there, if raised really carefully) ...

... hm, that does make me realize I don't have a particularly good strategy for dragons. Kingdra is, of course, strong against them, but that's also it's only type weakness. Eh, the Rizardon could always have Dragon Claw, if I decided it was a big enough problem. Then again, Metagoros is nicely resistant to dragon-type moves ... but dragons can use fire type moves... Hm.

It's a team based on my like of Dragonairs...because of that it makes me (in that particular game with the Dragonair team) about as skilled as a high level Fan...trainer thing, and they're always considerably easy. Analysis of strategy, weakness, stats, etc. is a little too much in this case. ><

Metagoros could use brick break on Sidon/Rhydon, since it's also a rock type which is weak to fighting attacks. Rizardon could easily dragon claw the Furaigon/Flygon out of play. But, there's a reason the game encourages switching pok?mon as needed. ;P
Your thoughts?
Docs Fox
Mar 9 2007, 01:59 AM
Hmmm...brick Break must be a newer move. xD But even so, I doubt it'd take Rhydon out in one hit while Earthquake would hit much harder and good against metal. Add a strong rock attack and all your flying ones are in trouble as well. =P Take out Kingdra and have 2-3 strong Ground/Earth and Bethy is in trouble. =D

Mar 9 2007, 02:05 AM
Brick Break is ... fairly new, can't remember exactly which game it was introduced. I know I was using it in Emerald though. It has a base damage of 75, and is affected by what would be a very high attack stat on Metagoros, so Sidon wouldn't last long unless it had a huge level advantage. Come to think of it, Metagoros can also learn ice punch from the Emerald move tutor, and that'd do 4x damage to either of those two.
And, I definitely wouldn't leave a pok?mon with a type disadvantage on the field unless mean look or some such thing had been used (or that stupid arena trap some pok?s have, haha).

Rock is weak to ice and ice is weak to rock. It's quite similar to dragons being weak to themselves. Either way, it'd be a bad choice to teach a pok?mon with relatively low special attack ice punch, I'm just saying. Pft, if Eamudo/Skarmory had a better physical attack cap, Metagoros wouldn't even be in my team. Ah well. It's just a beta anyway. XD;

I'm thinking that if I'm going to buy the game AND the Wii itself (not that I'm sure HOW this will happen, but, hey, pre-orders aren't open just yet anyway), just a game is more than manageable - especially since you'll never be short the few hundred for the system. ;P

Mar 9 2007, 03:00 AM
Yeah, I've seen his updates...(from when I check on my original LJ)
Unfortunately, the Heron language is written based on romanized Japanese, so there isn't a character that corresponds to the Japanese syllabary. Thus, if what Micaiah said in the video (hikari yo tsudoite waga michi wo hirake..."Gather, O light, light up my path") is written in Japanese as HI-KA-RI YO TSU-DO-I-TE, etc., in the Heron alphabet, the second part would be written W-A-G-A M-I-T-I W-O, etc. But yes, basically if I understand one, I understand the other, given I can read the alphabet.
And Life Returns is the only one whose Heron Language is just backwards japanese. That was the "imisanaki kuganonot" stuff in my signature before. Though mine has been elaborated on so as to not look like backwards Japanese, the only obvious example in that line being "kanashimi" = "imisanak."
