Chapter 3
Ami was sitting underneath by a water fountain fanning her face. It was very hot and Ami was feeling slightly sick. Every now and then someone would come along to the fountain and splash their face in it. Ami had come to a conclusion that it was clean water and alright to dip your face in.
Ami was about to when she saw Hikaru running past and stopping by a bench. Her face was very red and she looked as if she was about to collapse.
“HIKARU-CHAN!” Ami called. Hikaru looked up at her and smiled. Hikaru came running over and as soon as she reached the fountain she threw her head in. As soon as she came back out she looked a lot cooler and refreshed.
“You shouldn’t run in this heat you know Hikaru-chan.” Ami said. “You’re going to give yourself heatstroke.”
“I know but I had to.” Hikaru said wiping her face on her sleeve. Ami looked confused.
“Why? Looking for someone?” Ami asked slyly. Hikaru shrugged not noticing Ami’s sly looks.
“I dunno. I’m looking for something but I’m not sure what so I came to the park for some reason.” Hikaru sat on the fountain. Ami sighed realising Hikaru had completely ignored her sly tone.
“So you just randomly came to the park?” Ami asked. Hikaru nodded. Ami folded her arms and watched Hikaru for a while. Hikaru was looking around the park as if she was lost in some other place. She glanced at almost everything in her view tying to look for something. Ami was getting worried.
“Hikaru are you feeling alright?” Ami asked bending down next to her. Hikaru looked at Ami blankly.
“Sure why shouldn’t I be?” Hikaru asked as if Ami’s question was a stupid one.
“You just look a little out of touch. It’s as if you’ve never seen the park before.” Ami said standing straight again. Hikaru laughed.
“It’s not that! Don’t worry about me.” Hikaru said. She stood up and stood in front of Ami. “I’m fine really. I was just looking at those big black clouds coming over our heads.” She said cheerfully. Ami looked above her and yelled out as small drops of rain started to pour over people’s heads. Everyone screamed and ran inside as if the rain was a terrible thing. Hikaru stood smiling as Ami glanced back at Hikaru.
“You could have said something earlier!” Ami said pulling Hikaru towards some shelter. Hikaru was still smiling.
“I didn’t want to ruin the sunny mood that’s all!” She said giggling. Ami sighed irritably.
They ran towards Ami’s house which was considerable closer than Hikaru’s. Ami said she could phone home at hers and stay until the rain cleared up. They were on their way back when Ami stopped in her footsteps and stared at the road in front.
“What’s wrong Ami-chan?” Hikaru asked flowing Ami’s gaze. She gasped out as in front of her, in the middle of the road stood the sad girl from her dreams. She had one hand dangling by her side and the other one clenched into a fist on her chest. She gazed sadly at Hikaru and then at Ami.
“Aiko-chan.” Ami muttered under her breath.
“Who?” Hikaru asked looking at Ami. Tears came to Ami’s eyes and she suddenly yelled out and ran towards the girl. Ami ran up to her and hugged her in the middle of the road. She was smaller than Ami, about the same size as Hikaru was.
“Ami-chan come back!” Hikaru yelled. “You don’t know who she is!” Ami looked back at Hikaru but not letting go of the girl.
“It’s my old friend. My old friend that went missing a year ago. Oh Aiko-chan!” Ami hugged the girl even tighter but the girl didn’t move or hug her back. Instead she stared at Hikaru with her big sad eyes that were losing there sadness.
“Poor Ami-chan.” The girl muttered glumly.
“What?” Ami asked. She let go of the girl.
“Poor Ami-chan. Getting involved with this mess. Poor Ami-chan.” The girl muttered. Her face showed no expression. Ami backed away from the girl and found her foot was sinking into the floor. As she looked own beneath her she saw that the floor had become a black gooey liquid like the flower had become. Ami’s feet started to sink into it and once her ankles were submerged a few strands of the liquid flew up and grabbed her wrists and waist. It pulled her down even further and the darkness started to grow and climb up Ami covering her legs and waist and it wasn’t long before it was up to her neck and covering her chin.
“AMI-CHAN!” Hikaru cried. She ran up to Ami and tried to grab her but she soon realised there was nothing left but hair to grab and she didn’t want to pull Ami’s soft blond hair out. Hikaru knelt down and tried to find something to grab but soon the darkness was absorbing her and holding onto her waist. It started to grow up Hikaru and pull her down.
“Ami-chan!” Hikaru still tried to reach for Ami whose whole face was almost absorbed.
“Poor Ami-chan.” The girl said sadly. “I’m sorry.” She said. Hikaru glanced at the girl who was simply standing there. A big wave of the gooey darkness came up behind the girl and wrapped itself around her leaving only her head.
“See you in Cephiro magic Knight.” She to Hikaru. Hikaru tried to speak but she felt as if her lungs were being squashed and compressed. Hikaru could no longer move her head at all and had to roll her eyes only to see that Ami was gone and only a few ripples remained.
“Go to sleep Hikaru.” A voice said in her mind.
“No….” Hikaru said getting sleepy already. “I can’t….” But as the darkness covered her mouth and nose Hikaru felt herself go off into a heavy sleep.
“Hikaru-chan No!” A familiar voice cried but Hikaru couldn’t put a face to it. Her mind had blanked and the last thing Hikaru remembered was seeing a tall green eyed, brown haired girl holding out her hand to Hikaru. But after that everything went black. Hikaru later remembered that the girl holding out her hand was no other than Fuu.
