Waaaauuuugh! I survived the trip back yesterday with all of its associated confusion and turmoil. The first part of the trip went very well from Heathrow Airport to Newark in the US and for the most part British Airways did a nice job. I even met a couple from Scotland that flew down to Heathrow fron Glasgow, so I asked them how much the fare cost was. They told me it was £70 which was cheaper than the train and lots faster too, so maybe that will be the way to go on my next visit. ^_^ After we got to Newark and went through immigration and customs, then checked in and had lunch, things seemed to be going way too well for us, which abruptly changed. The flight back to our town was cancelled and not rescheduled. Flights nowadays are booked to the max, so there was no hope of getting on another one until the next day. It goes without saying that I was very pissed at them! >_< Eventually I was able to get a flight to a different town near mine and rent a car to drive the rest of the way back. Finally we got home at 3am this morning. The baggage showed up this morning so after I picked that up, the trip was complete. Overall it was an awesome holiday trip, and I enjoyed everything that I saw, but there was just so much more that I wasn't able to see, most especially everyone in Redditch and elsewhere. v_v Whether it was bad planning by me or a lack of availability due to exams, it just didn't work out which really was very disappointing for me ... to be so close and not have it work out ... *sigh* v_v
