Topic: Poetry Rules

I'd like to put up some rules for the poetry corner to try and make it look neater and a better place for everyone! ^^

1. Post poems in ONE topic. If you want to make sure people notice it's updated just put updated and the date. One topic for each poem makes the forum messy and sends other peoples past work to the.... OLD PAGES! *dramatic music*

2. If you post poems, please check others poems. You can't excpect people to reply to your topics if you don't repay the favour!

3. Try to change the themes of your poems. If there all about death or dying then it gets boring. And I know Im guilty of this in some cases! ^^;;

4. No flaming. This is peoples work, which is how they express themselves! Please don't insult them!

5. Criticism happens, get over it! Don't start arguments if someone tells you they don't like your work!!!

6. Check your work! Typos are ANNOYING!!! Don't let it happen. Theres a spell check button and a caz!!!!

7. Suggestions. There's a difference between suggesting ways to improve grammar of a poem and completely changing it! Don't change poeples work! Some poeple just have a different style to you, DEAL WITH IT!!!

8. Have fun. Express yourself!!!! ^O^

Sounds good to me, I'll just add a couple of things: Don't post poetry just for the sake of it! And also, please, PLEASE Beta your work or ask someone else to before you post it up. Typos happen, but having them all the way through makes things like poetry incredibly hard to read.

Hold on, when you say post poems in one toipc - does that mean one topic per user? Because I can see how that'd make good sense.

Yeh. I mean one thread for all of one members poems. That way the forum stays nice an tidy! ^^

And great suggestion. I know how annoying typos are. I've looked through mine a few times and noticed them and corrected them. So please avoid the typos!!!!!!

Do you have one of those pop-up blocker thingy's? It can prevent the spell check window from opening.
