It's been a long time since I've talked to Galaxia directly, but I had been keeping in contact with her mom. On one of my trips to Oak Ridge Laboratory, I actually went to go and visit her, but Galaxia was too nervous or shy to meet me in person. Her mom is very nice though and we went out and had dinner and Galaxia's brother came with us. We all had a great time together. ^_^ At that time I guess Galaxia hadn't fully recovered from that dark period of her life, but she has now. She has moved away from the rednecked town and school that she dreaded so much and is going to college in another state. According to her mom she is doing very well there. ^_^ Galaxia spends very little time online anymore, which is probably not such a bad thing, but still it would be great if she stopped by here every once in a while to say Hi.

Hearing that she went away to college makes me very happy.  Like I said, it's odd how someone I only "knew" online for a couple of years stuck in my head this long.  Glad you're still around anyway pal!  I promise not to get lost again.

The online world is a place that I've found to be a mecca for people like Galaxia who have a difficult time fitting into real life society. They want so badly to have friends and not feel alone, so Galaxia was really reaching out to us and I think that's why she made such a strong impression on us MR ... we were people that she really needed. At the same time I am also very relieved that (with help of course) she was able to "graduate" from being dependent on the online world to being self sufficient in real life. ^_^
