The Dresden Dolls - Ultima Esperanza

Dresden Dolls - Roundhouse, Camden, London. November 3rd and 4th. £20 (that's including booking fee, I think). David and I are going with a bit of luck - anybody else fancy coming along? We're most likely getting the train, which is handy.

If it wasn't London you know I'd go. But lack on money means I can't afford to do anything. I found I still owe my parentals £50 for Russia which they want asap. Dx
Good luck with getting tickets though!

Ach, okies - hopefully we'll be able to get some of those off-peak £15 Stratford-London rail tickets, but I'll understand if money's tight since it is for me too!

Was listening to The Pipettes - Judy, now listening to The Skids - The Saints are Coming

I bought a stack (of four) cheapo CDs in london, and I love 'em.

Come! Come! And we shall make a night of it.

The Postal Service - Such great Heights

This song makes me cry every time I hear it because it reminds me of people I miss (one person in particular, GHEY). Not sure if I posted the lyrics to this before, but I shall do so again because it fits my mood absolutely 100% currentlee.

Katherine was playing it in the morning after Quinneyfest when everybody was huddling round what was left of the bonfire, being cold, and chilling out after the night before. So when I heard it floating over from the other side of the bonfire ashes I felt so damn good because, y'know, it didn't matter that I'd been sitting in a pile of ash for the past four hours freezing my ass off, hadn't had any sleep, was becoming progressively more sober and naming one-hit wonders with Joe. I just knew that I'd had an amazing evening and now everything was crisp and quiet and almost fresh, and the song made me think of certain mateys of mine - and it was one of those incredible moments, where everything makes sense.

And that was the last time that I heard this song. Explanation over, kudos if you actually read that.

I am thinking it's a sign
That the freckles in our eyes
Are mirror images and
When we kiss they're perfectly aligned

And I have to speculate
That God himself did make us into
Corresponding shapes like puzzle pieces
From the clay

And true, it may seem like a stretch
But it's thoughts like this
That catch my troubled head
When you're away, when I am missing you to death

When you were out there on the road
For several weeks of shows
And when you scan the radio
I hope this song will guide you home

They will see us waving from such great heights
"Come down now," they'll say
But everything looks perfect from far away
"Come down now," but we'll stay

I've tried my best to leave
This all on your machine
But the persistent beat
Sounded thin upon listening

That frankly will not fly
You will hear the shrillest highs
And lowest lows with the windows down
When this is guiding you home

They will see us waving from such great heights
"Come down now," they'll say
But everything looks perfect from far away
"Come down now," but we'll stay
