I've been to Texas a few times and there are some nice things about it. The larger cities and suburbs are newer than in much of America. The housing isn't really expensive and there are lots of jobs, so economically it's a good place to live. On the downside, the summer is hot, so you'd have to get used to 40°C (or higher) days and in the winter it can be icy ... and they do get tornadoes. O.o;; The weather is one thing, but what might be harder to swallow is the redneck culture that is everywhere in Texas. If you're used to being in a liberal environment, the backwards extreme conservatism will come as a shock. Texas after all is the home state of President Bush, so living there should give you some good insight into why the man thinks the way he does. >_>
