CHAPTER 2
It was around five in the evening when Manta called round to cycle with Yoh on his run.
“Hi everyone!” was his cheery greeting to Anna and Yoh.
“ Hey Manta” Yoh grinned as he had finally finished the laundry and was looking forward to some company on his evening run.
“ Oh before you go Yoh dear I’ve changed your route the ghosts will point you in the right direction” Anna blushed as she recalled calling Yoh dear. Yoh on the other hand didn’t notice and groaned at the thought of a most probable longer run. Anna still slightly pink threw him a stern look and he mumbled to Manta,
“ I think we should go.”
“ Good idea.” He mumbled back. Manta went to fetch his bike from round the back of the house as Yoh fixed his weights into place.
“ Don’t forget we’re going out tonight Anna your choice.” He called back just as Manta came round the corner. No one spoke for the first mile but then Manta asked innocently,
“ So you’re um… going out with Anna tonight?”
“ Yes and it doesn’t mean anything at least it shouldn’t we’re just two friends who just happen to be engaged and are going out together alone tonight.” Yoh garbled.
“ Right. “ So this doesn’t mean you like her or anything does it?”
“ No!” was his stern reply, or does it a small voice said. Ahead of the two figures was a ghost of a woman; who Anna had used her powers as an ikato and commanded her to point Yoh in the right direction. Yoh groaned as her saw her.
“ Hang on.” Manta said suddenly out of the blue, “ I know this town better than you Yoh and this is a shorter route back to yours. Anna’s going soft on you” he laughed.
“ I wish do you have any idea how many chores I had to do today. I’m so tired I could fall asleep right here but I wont because me and Anna are going out tonight and I don’t want to disappoint her.”
Yet he says he doesn’t like her Manta said to himself silently. As they arrived back at the house Manta remembered he and Tomao had some last minute good luck party celebrations to do for Yoh, Ren, ryu and horo horo’s party in two days. It was their way to say good luck in the shaman tournament as they couldn’t go with them.
“ Erm… I have to go see Tomao chan now so Ill see you tomorrow same time?”
“ yeah come a bit earlier if you want I could do with the company.” Yoh grinned back at his friend.
“ Ok then and good luck with Anna tonight.” He added before cycling back home. Yoh went inside and took off his shoes and weights.
“ Anna?” he called loudly. There was no reply. A rush of panic set over Yoh she was always here moaning at his time holding a stopwatch as proof.
“ Anna! “ he called more loudly and a note of panic held in the air. He ran round the downstairs of the house and found no sign of her. He began to ascend up the stairs and checked his and Anna’s rooms. The bathroom door was not locked but he could hear something inside. Not thinking and as the panic dug its deep roots into him he opened the door only to hear Anna scream for him to get out. He jumped and slammed the door shut breathing fast. He didn’t dare move he had just caught Anna in the bath without realising it lucky he hadn’t seen anything he shouldn’t but was still scared stiff and embarrassed. Anna soon walked out the bathroom in her dressing gown and gave Yoh such a luck he wished the floor would swallow him up and not let him go.
“I…I…I’m s…s….s.sorry…. A…A.. Anna” he stuttered badly, “ I was worried you know you not being at the um… d…door” He grinned sheepishly.
“ No matter what the circumstances next time Asakura Yoh,” he knew he was in trouble now she only said his full name if he was to be punished, “ You knock before just in case someone’s in there. Is that clear?” Anna said all this shouting crazzily but the pink on her face told the truth. The to her and Yoh’s utter surprise she laughed and walked into her room still laughing. Yoh not waiting to see if it was a joke ran into the bathroom and locked the door, letting out a sign of relief as he did so.
