However, you cannot yet drink.. or technically you cannot be sold alcohol, drinking it isn't illegal.
... not that I'm encouraging you or anything, your liver would never forgive me

ahem... HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Aww, poor MJ-chan. D:

My Mom says I might have to get a job at the local hospital cleaning cos there arent any placements in town at the moment.
That means cleaning sick peoples toilets.
x[

But I'd only have to work about 3 hours a weekend.
Title: Re: Happy birthday to ME!
Post by: Haggis-chan on July 21, 2006, 09:24:55 AM
Hmm, I personally wouldn't go for that job... cleaning sick people's toilets for only 3 hours? That's not a lot of money, you know. o_o At least I get a good amount for my job! ^o^ XD

I don't care how much money I get at least you have a job.
I don't have a job.
I don't get anymore money off parentals.
I need money at the moment really badly.

^_^;; It's not about the job itself, it's the location. Hospitals really scare me, but schools don't so what Liz and H-chan are doing would be okay for me. My first job was working in a department store which was kinda cool because I like to go shopping. However, the pay was sucky (minimum wage) and I had to deal with the public all of the time which is sometimes worse than dealing with toilets. >_<
Title: Re: Happy birthday to ME!
Post by: Froggie chan on July 24, 2006, 07:49:21 PM
There aren't any school cleaning places left so I'm left in the big world.
I'm not a fan of hospitals. In fact the times I've recently spent in A&E I've been a subject to panic.
But I guess someone has to clean up..

My parentals are hoping that around the end of August university students will leave and hopefully some vaciences will come up.
Still makes me think that the 8 letters I wrote out were a waste of time.

My mum was trying to get me a job cleaning the hill crest centre at the hospital, but I was too young or something.
I also didn't get the job at the library cus i only just took my GCSEs! >.>
But they said there will be more jobs soon, so I shall apply again!!!!!! X3

If I get my ashamedly short CV (no previous jobs/no confirmed qualifications/no talents actually pertinent to real life or the job being applied for) in by 4th August, I may have a job.

Photographing stuff and putting in on eBay for people who don't have the time or know-how to.

No mops.

No toilets.

And all for £5.50 an hour.

Which I'm fine with, y'know.

Wish me luck...

(Hayley, mention the name 'Chris Curtis' at the library and they'll employ you. Trust me.)

£5.50 an hour for doing e-bay stuff? Hmm ... maybe I should try something like that and get paid for doing online stuff. XD

I am loosing it.
I swear. I can't get a job AT all.
No job's in school, none anywhere and I have to pay my parents rent and will soon have to pay one of Chris's parents rent since my family are moving away.
Arrragh, I hate umemployment and yet when i get a job.. I'll wish I don't.

*sigh* That doesn't sound very encouraging at Amy-chan ... v_v

Job hunting can be one of the most depressing experiences there is out there because the possibility of rejection is very high. It's also a little unfair for your parents to ask for rent if you don't have a job and can't pay it. I'm sure that you'd be willing to contribute to the family finances if you were able to, so they ought to lighten up on the rent business. Try not to become discouraged and give up. There has to be something out there someplace for you Amy-chan. *Huggles*

I have to pay them some ema money. Basically because I'm going into further education and my parents have recently had an income alot less than £30,000 a year between them for each week I fully attend at school I'll recieve £20. This is only until next August but if my parents have moved by then I may still be liable to recieve £30 because I won't be living with my parents. It's all confusing and such but I have to pay my mom a quarter of the money I earn on ema as money for keep.

I need money myself becuase unlike everyone else I know I have to pay for my own clothes and shoes as well as anything else I want to buy. >_<

£20-30 a week isn't all that much, and you have to provide your own clothing as well? Way back when ... my first job paid about the equivalent of £60 a week which went a great deal further 25 years ago than it would today. It sounds like your family is in a world of hurt right now financially judging from the cost of things that I saw when I was visiting England this summer. Hopefully your mom and/or dad can find a new job with better pay soon, but until then that ema money is going to look very tempting to them - a "food to a starving man" type concept. I hope that this doesn't become yet another source of stress for you. v_v *Huggles*
