A couple of things I drew recently, they suck but hey...I know Amy's already seen these so she knows to run.
(http://www.boomspeed.com/meilinrose/avvy.jpg) - This photo came out kinda weird, and you can see all the crappy rubed-out lines -_- But it looks better without the face I drew on it later. Nadeshiko, or at least it's meant to be.
(http://www.boomspeed.com/meilinrose/Pic_0129.jpg) - Blurry photo >_< An experiment to see if I could draw a Yue in less than five minutes, but it came out looking wrong...ah well.
-
they be much coolness as you well know =P
without the face does look really ghost like but so cool!
the face was good as well though!!!
-
The face sucked >_< I evened out the eyes more the other night and they're better now, but it still annoys me. I drew a really great one for practice at the side of the page and now I can't replicate it, dammit. Oh well, thankies anyway (they do suck though)
-
they dont suck!
-
They both look good to me Caz-chan. ^_^ Yue looks just like he is supposed I think, and the details of Nedeshiko's wings and dress look great. It is a little weird without the face though, so I'd like to see it with the face if you're willing to share that with us. ^__^
-
^_^; I really, really hate Nadeshiko's wings but I couldn't get any better feather detail to look right. I'll scan it in for you with the face later tonight and post it up tomorrow if you like ^_^; Thanks!
-
yay!!!
-
Erm, I guess that Caz-chan forgot to. It's okies though, not to worry ... ^_^
-
Aww crap, sowwies! >_< *Crushes self*
I drew a pissed-off fairy earlier and I was going to do a weird self portrait AMy Brown stylee, so if they work I'll scan them in with the full Nadeshiko ^_^;;;
-
Yaayy! Thankies Caz-chan! ^_^ The fairy idea reminds me a little of Primera from MKR, except that a variety of things happen to her ... :P
-
Primea annoyed me greatly
but as most characters do in anime she grew on me ^_^;
she reminds me of meilin-chan from CCS!
-
I didn't like Meilin that much at first, but she became one of my favourite characters as I learned more about her and watched more of the series ^_^
Anyways, I finally have more stuff...the pissed-off fairy needs redrawing, but here's a fairy with an evil eye:
(http://www.boomspeed.com/meilinrose/fairysketch.jpg)
(http://www.boomspeed.com/meilinrose/fairypaint.jpg)
This is a really crap scan of really crap painting, but it was the first time I'd ever used acrylics. I'd got the hang of them a bit by the time I did the wings, which was sad because that was the last bit I did -_- Does anyone think I should have a go at repainting this properly?
(http://www.boomspeed.com/meilinrose/sansketch.jpg)
(http://www.boomspeed.com/meilinrose/sanshaded.jpg)
San from Mononoke-Hime, before and after I shaded her in ^_^
-
Wow, nice shading work Caz-chan! ^__^ And I like the fairy piccy too, although she doesn't look like Primera at all. ^_^;;
-
WOW!
*stares in awe*
i love the amy brown style fairy! i dont think it needs re-painting o.o
and san! o.o
how can you shade that neatly!!! as well as draw that welll!!!!
-
Hehe, I wasn't intending the fairy to look Primera so that probably explains why they don't look very much alike ^_^;; I redrew the eye on her last night, I'm tempted to shade her but I probably won't in case it screws up.
Thanks for the nice comments guys! ^_^ Hehe, the shading is pretty easy to do, it just needs touching up until it looks right - as for the drawing, it's crappy but for scanning I went over what I'd done pretty boldly to make it look like cel lines. And that helped for shading as well ^_^;;
-
its still really cool
me still gots no work up cos H-chan hasnt been online... T_T
-
Mee hasn't seen here around in a while either, where did she go? O.o;;
-
i dont know T_T
she hasnt been online for a few days now.. she was on friday evening me thinks.. but not since from what i knoe v_v
-
your stuff just totally rocks caz!
I love the first one and the princess monoke the best!
They rock! XD
Btw, did you make your sig? How'd you get the text like that?
-
Thankies H ^_^
And yuppers, I did make my siggy - I used the same font that you used on your "Uh oh" one, but selected a couple of colours from the Dresden Dolls piccy I was using for the fill and the line, made the line a gradient between two colours and finally set the whole thing to be partly transparent *yawn*. It was the result of a very broring afternoon.
And yes, the text is supposed to be unreadable ^_^;; The proper thing says: "There I go again, pretending to be you/Make-believing that I have a soul beneath the surafce/Trying to convince you it was accidentally on purpose"
-
it just looks really proffesional and waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay coolies!
^_^
-
yep it does!
i could read it anyways ^_^;;;
-
me too.
Did you do it on paintshop pro or something?
My stuff never looks as good as that!
-
Yeah, I did most of it on Paint Shop Pro 7 ^_^;; Thankies! But it doesn't look professional or anything like that o_o I just liked the picture...
-
I think its does!
^_^
Oh and i need to borrow paint shop pro and photo shop off you! ^_^
-
Sure, I'll burn the cracked versions onto a disk for you sometime if you like ^_^ I just need a disk...
-
sure!
Ill try and find some...
-
It's been a while, here's one single piccy for you to take a look at ^_^ It be Schrodinger from the Hellsing manga, he's a member of the Millennium Nazis and pratts about in a Hitler Youth uniform annoying everybody. (you can kinda see next to him that I was going to draw in Yumie beside him, the split-personality Japanese nun, but I decided to put her in a painting instead that I'll post when it's done ^_^)
(http://www.boomspeed.com/meilinrose/schro.jpg)
His name comes from Schrodinger's cat, with the idea that if you put a cat in a box you can't be sure if that cat's alive or dead until you actually look inside the box (at which point its state as one or the other becomes fixed). Until then, it's both alive and dead at the same time. In the manga Schrondinger says "I am everywhere and nowhere" after being able to get past serious-level security with no apparent effort, so this figures. And he has cat ears which are kinda cute ^_^
(Real Nazis are never cute by the way, just thought I'd disclaim myself by saying that...)
-
O.O
that is soooo cool! it must have taken you ages!
and with the rubbed out piccie in the background makes it look really effective for some reason. im not sure how to describe it it just does!
you pay alot of attention to detail and can actual make your pictures look proportened (spelling) like H-chan and unlike me =P
-
Thankies again ^_^ It didn't actually take too long, it was the initial drawing that took the longest. I'm just annoyed that his eyes are looking in slightly different directions >_< And the hand's a little crap...meh. I'll leave it.
-
it looks fine O.o
i didnt notice but then again its usually the artist who notices the mistakes =P
-
O.O
*faints*
dear go caz!
thats (in the words of ron weasley) BLOODY BRILLIANT!
O.O
can't stop being shocked at the brilliance....
O.O
so good!
OMG!
-
^_^;;;;; Thankies H! The more I look at it the more things I notice about it that I don't like, so I won't look at it anymore. I want to get on with some lucard crap I'm doing (and the Yumiko/Yumie thing) but I have History and Maths to do...bah -_-
-
Well, it looks great to me Caz-chan! Awesome work! ^__^ And he is really cute and somewhat feminine, especially with the kitty ears. ^_^;;
-
Another sketchbook offering XD Rosi drew me a groovy picture a while ago so I thought I'd so something in return. It was originally meant to be a load of Alucard drawings but Schrödinger snuck in there again. At least it actually looks like him this time o_O The badly drawn hand that's picking him up is of the Major if anyone actually cares.
You probably won't get the writing at the top, it's referencing a 'poem' Rosi (Ron) wrote a few weeks ago entitled "What is Hellsing?" in which the words 'phallic bulk' came up several times in relation to Alucard ¬¬
(http://www.geocities.com/meilinofrose/rosi2.jpg)
Slow loading, sorry about that ^_^;
-
WOW! O_O
they are so good!
btw, i finally have a scanner so ill be able to scan more pics in... soon o_o
-
Whee, more piccies from Amy! ^_^ *glimpies*
-
Wow, coolies Alucard sketches Caz-chan! Once again awesome work! ^_^
-
Thankies ^_^ Now that exams are over I might draw something tonight, but I don't know - I've been limited to stickmen currently, and even the anatomy on them sucks XD
Edit: Moved this topic to my forum, for no reason except that it's only my stuff that seems to be in here o_O (Thankies Liz ^_^) Am currently attempting to learn how to CG using the Schrodinger above, and it ain't working ^_^
-
cool
^^
-
CG is really tough to learn how to do, so best of luck Caz-chan and don't worry if it doesn't come out right the first time. *Huggles* ^_^
-
Woot, more retarded offerings XD I finished the Yumiko/Yumie painting awhile ago, and looking back on it now (I think it's the first painting I've ever voluntarily done, aside fomr that fairy one) it's kind of shite. Aaand the sword sucks because I ran out of patience by that point *dedication*
(http://www.boomspeed.com/meilinrose/nunpaint.jpg)
And here we have evidence as to why you should not get an idea into your head at 1am XD 'Drawn' in roughly 50 seconds, not that it shows or anything.
(http://www.boomspeed.com/meilinrose/dweebsmall.jpg)
Yup, it is actually plugging something. What is it plugging? Wait and see.
And finally, in delightfully crappy quality because I can't use the camera properly, I present what happened when I sat down to do my art project on a whacking great piece of baord (A1) and ended up scribbling on the back.
(http://www.boomspeed.com/meilinrose/board.jpg)
So no actual art here, just stupid scribbles to stop this topic getting archived XD Some decent pictures next time, I promise...
-
Teeheehee! They're hilarious Caz-chan, I love them! ^__^
-
Brillant... work of genius! XD
Im love them all... even though you sent me the Yumiko/Yumie pic a while back >_>
-
Hehe, I remember sending you that one ^_^;;
But thankies for commenting guys, I'll try not to post any more weirdo scribblings though ^_^ Real art next, I promise!
-
like we care whey#ther its doodles or not?! XD
your doodles are art in my eyes!
-
More doodles, of a slightly higher-quality this time, but still evidence of the fact that I can't fucking draw XD
A couple of Andersongs, the full-pose was from the manga but the profile was from memory. These were quick sketches (it shows most on the skimpy shading, cross-hatched Andersong makes it look like he's wearing tweed) and the reason the one looks as though he has a wart on his nose is because I couldn't find a rubber while I was doing these. Go figure.
(http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y264/meilinrose/andersong.jpg)
And an Integral that I doodled in the back of my French book (which explains teh pinkness). It's interesting how it came out considering I only had a biro to hand >_<
(http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y264/meilinrose/frenchintegral.jpg)
Didn't I promise actual art this time? bah ^_^; I have got a couple of things going at the moment, a young Walter/Alucard picture and a little but of AxA 'specially for Neil - hopefully I'll find some time this weekend to make as good a job of them as I can ^_^
-
xD you said they wrent doddles... you obviously havent seen half of the shite i come up with when im doodling.. and i *never* use biro for doodles... i make too many mistakes ^_^;
anyways great work as always! Cant wait for the new pics! ^o^
-
Hehe, I like the pinkness one, it's really coolies! ^_^ If you're a big Hellsing fan Caz-chan, take a look at Trinity Blood sometime. I think that you'd probably like it.
-
Methinks I shall ^_^
Just one thing again, and *shock-horror* it's not manga-based art. Here's a preview as to my New Orleans project! Still not finished, I need to add more ribbons and crap.
(http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y264/meilinrose/MardiGrasPrincess.jpg)
Done in about an hour during the art lesson yesterday using oil pastels. I've never really used them before, but I just carried on regardless and had a go (a bit of advice for everyone there). The mouth looks slightly botoxed, but bah >_< I was experimenting with having a more pensieve expression under a guady Mardi Gras mask, not sure if it completely worked though...
Anyhoo, you can stop nagging now Amy XD
-
oooo.. pretty!!
I like the bright colours with the contrast with the black background. I hope we can see it once its finished....
-
Wow, that's really good for just an hour's work Caz-chan! Very bright and vivid colors. ^_^
-
thats goergous, really, really really, excellant, well dones
-
Well, it's been two months and all I've got is stuff that I scribbled last night in another merry 1am jaunt ^_^ More promo stuff for "Dweeb", the comic strip which I'm probably never ever going to get round to working on. The pencil lead was wearing down a tad by the time I finished doing this, just like the batteries in my lamp so you'll have to excuse the crummy lineart.
(http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y264/meilinrose/dweeb2small.jpg)
No, I have no idea what's up with the anatomy. Just go with it ^_^
-
Oooh, I like it Caz-chan!! The wings are coolies and so is the fro! Yaayy!! ^__^
-
Yay, you liked teh afro ^_^ Thankies!
We had a power-cut today so I sadly couldn't continue with my English essay, but I *did* use the opportunity to get on with some painting. It's sounds cheesy, but I was inspired by Hans Holbein (I think his most famous painting was The Ambassadors), the insanely-good Tudor artist.
(http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y264/meilinrose/dress.jpg)
It's obviously not finished yet, I need to fill in the rest and add a few more layers to the dress yet ^_^; I was wondering if any of you could make any suggestions about what colour to paint the background! Neil said somehing about painting it dark black with one corner smoky grey to create a lighting effect which sounded good, but I was wondering what the rest of you thought too. Thanks!
-
The darkness would work, but a natural setting might work too because the green would make a nice contrast to the red dress. Trees and whatnot can get complicated, so I'm not sure if you wanted to go that far into it. Also, keep the greens and browns dark, light colors would be painfully sharp.
-
I was probably just going to do a dark background all one colour, if I get too in-depth with the background it might detract from the central figure in terms of detail. The sash is a sort of light yellow/cream so I'm not sure if a dark green would go with that - probably best with a very dark browny?
-
Sorry I havent been here in soo long!
I love all the pics so far and as for the latest I agree with the idea neil came, maybe use something like candle light in the background for a lighting effect.. if you want to stay with the dark and light theme, but its your choice.
