Title: The Board Rules
Post by: Maki-chan on February 07, 2003, 03:27:30 AM
1. Try to post comments in the appropriate forum. This will keep things more focused.

2. Try not to interrupt a discussion with irrelavent comments and don't change the subject too much. Make a new topic instead.

3. Try to be polite, the board is a social place. You will catch more flies with honey than with vinegar. Keep all vulgar comments in "The Beehive".

4. Racist or bigoted comments are not desireable, but if you feel that it's really necessary, they are permitted only in "The Beehive". Such comments will not be tolerated elsewhere on the board.

5. Any form of sexual harassment, explicit or implied, will not be tolerated. If you're not sure how your comments might interpreted, then do not post them. Better safe than sorry. No exceptions will be made in "The Beehive" either.

6. Do not post personal comments about other members of the board. That's what PM, e-mail, and IM are for. If you wish to lodge a complaint with the administrator against a member, do so only in "Forum Feedback". You will be given proper consideration.

7. Posting pornography of any kind is prohibited. Pornography being images of actual human persons. Hentai material is permitted in "The Beehive" only and not in "The Land of the Rising Sun". Hentai material must be drawn artwork and cannot be photos.

8. Signatures may consist of anything that fits within the guidelines of these rules. Images should not stretch the tables and try to keep image files under 50K, for those still using dial-up modems.

9. Above all, have fun and enjoy yourself.

Actually I think that everyone has been pretty good about #1. General Discussion is exactly that, non-specific topics, so almost anything can go there. About #2, well, that's a yes and a no. The original intent was to target disruptive spamming, and not to stifle people's conversations. But we could all do a little better keeping things on topic, myself included. ^_^;;

As long as a thread follows a logical conversation from one idea to the next, I have no problem with that. A problem that I've seen in other forums is when an individual comes into a conversation as just posts random obscenities or other offensive remarks. Things like that are disruptive and can kill the threads, and that's what I don't want. So far everyone has been okies with the rules, not like I'm that strict about them to begin with ... ^_^;;;

The other mods are Galaxia and Jenniva. Galaxia still shows up from time to time, but Jenniva has been away for quite a while, I think we weirded her out too much. ^_^;; Maybe I should try to invite her back again. There hasn't been a lot of need for moderation here anyways, everyone seems to be rather well behaved actually. ^__^

I had to insert rule #5 in there after recent events.
