A nice sentiment but I have my doubts that it will ever be realized. The American entertainment industry would need to get their collective head out of the sand and discard the age old paradigm that "cartoons are only for kids". Only when they (and their commercial sponsors of course) are willing to take animation seriously as an "all walks of life" entertainment media will they ever succeed at outdoing the Japanese at their own game.

Personally, I doubt America could beat Japan at the anime industry. I have the same opinion as Hikaru-san, and the fact that I love Japan doesn't help. Personally, I can't even believe that anime is selling better in the U.S. than in Japan (or more like I don't want to believe D: *shot*) If I moved to Japan, I wouldn't be considered as much of a geekfreak as I am now. (I would still be considered an otaku though ;P )

Guess you got me ; Considering all your points; I do have to say I've been convinced. Though it's a bit dissapointing; since I prefer the japanese anime to the American wannabe anime(although it's probably not supposed to be "wannabe"; that's just how I see it.). And dubs are just plain torture--yes I am a hardcore dub-hater. Though of course, dubs and american-made anime are not what you're talking about. And yes, it is easier to buy dvds here in North America; but I personally hardly ever get dvds. I usually go to free online-streaming websites. Out of my entire anime dvd collection, I have only four dvds(though that's probably more than most people in Japan, if I refer to what you said).

well now that i think about it the Naruto games are alright and i like rping it buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuut.....apart from that it is a little dull now XD
