Full Version: What kind of OC's do some of you make when in an RPG?
Magic Knight Rayearth > Cephiro Concourse > The Grand Bazaar
Yuki Fukurou
I'm just a bit curious, considering I'm kind of a writer. I've been in some RPG's and I was just wondering what type of OC's do some of you guys make? Mine...tend to usually take more on the role of a messenger and there are also times in which I play as a character that I've made, but most of the time, most of the roles I've made so far is just mainly the messenger role.

My characters varies. It depends where to get the inspiration. But mostly I love being the evil guy. If it's possible I'll be the villain.
Shiidou Hikaru
Eh-heh, I've done everything from Mihoshi type bubbleheads to Sith Lords, so just let me know what you need Yuki-san. happy.gif The type of role that I find to be the most fun are characters that are very emotional (drama queen lol), naive, but have lots of power. There is a lot of potential for good intentions to go wrong with that kind of combination.

So true.

I don't RP anymore and even when I did, I wasn't really into it. However, I'm drawn towards the more reluctant, distant, and mysterious character types...whether its because they're shy, anti-social, making a lot of secret plans, or simply lazy ( not lazy as in they never do anything but rather they try to find ways to put the least amount of effort into things. )
Seraph
*Thread necromancy 200 FTW! ((For the win, for you non-gamers))*

I tend to play the ranger/ronin/drifter a lot, but I've been known to take the Strong but lovably naive farm boy type from time to time. My main OC is my namesake on these boards, Seraph. He's really my net-persona. What I would be in real-life, if I had the time and devotion to commit to my martial arts, and certain basic laws of nature had an odd habit of turning to silly-string around me.
Shirotatsu
I like to make my OCs all over the place if at all possible. I tend not to use characters who take on a primarily passive role in the story. In any case, as Batou said, it's too easy to become too attached to an OC thus giving him special favors and destroying the story in the process.

These pretty much represent the spectrum in which I create (these were the intended characteristics; it's likely they changed during the coures of the RP):
Amakusa no Yuusha-tachi
Itxaro (RP version only) - fiery, active, and rebellious
Mika - quiet, mysterious, yet somewhat playful
Hanako (story version only) - kind, willing to help anyone, but somewhat airheaded

Mystic Mana Gems
Astartu - fun, outgoing, and often hyper.
Suria (so memorable, and yet his name makes no impression on me - in other words, I forgot it) - weird and quirky, a wannabe mirror of his "sister."
Ereshkigal - dark and calculating, a do-it-all-herself person. When addressed, her personality mirrors that of the person with whom she is speaking.

Others
Kyouka - hypocritical "say one thing but do another" type; quiet and keeps to herself, speaking to others mostly when it is about matters of peace, and yet she solves things with emotionless violence.
Iris Sitennouzi - sometimes quiet, sometimes loud. Tomboyish and poetic.
Mika, I think was her name - depressed, with a bleak outlook on life
Rika - kind of gangster like, but not; high tolerance to pain.

With the exception of Iris (because that particular RP went nowhere), I liked all of the ones that fell under "Others," with Kyouka being one of my favorites.
