i like drewing people but i can never get the eyes in the right place
Shiidou Hikaru
Erm, I'm not sure what kind of drawings that you're trying to make, but there are many books on the market for tips on how to draw manga and also many books on the fine arts as well. If you're still in school, there are probably art classes that you can take too. I'm not much of an artist myself and I've only used very simple techniques like drawing a cross to get the eyes and ears located in the right places. Getting the eyes or any feature to look right sometimes take me several attempts, to I'll use a very hard pencil to draw very light sketches that can be easily erased ... and my eraser is my friend. happy.gif;;

I think she means drawing manga people Batou-chan.
But, i guess i agree with Shiidou-neechan, Keep An Eraser With You At All Times!

Well, if you need some tips on manga eyes, here some instructions:
1) Draw in the face guidelines on to you face shape.
") Draw curves from the top eye line to the middle one. then curve in to the bottom eye line. Draw backward "J"'s for the irises. The gaps are drawn on the side where the light is coming from the top right.

There are also a lot of ways to change eyes. You can apply these variations in any style.

The first biig thing to consider is how large the eyes should be. Eye size reveals lots about personality, with bigger eyes often making people look young, cuter, or more innocent. the size of he eyes will also change the shape of the face a little too.

3) Draw in the shines and add the pupils and shadows. (Add more shine if you want.) Draw in the eyebrows (simple slightly curved lines over the eyes).

4)Thicken the outside line of the eyes to shade the pupils and eye socket. You can also draw eyelashes. Draw eyelashes where the eye curves toward the bottom lines. This will make you character look more feminine. Bigger eyelashes makes you character look more feminine>

I hope that helped Ayumi-chan, i'm not an expert about drawing manga, i'm good at drawing it, but not good at saying how to draw it smile.gif .

I've found tracing their eyes helps me get a general of how the eye breaks down, when all else fails, since some characters don't seem to follow any pattern in any drawing aid book I've found. Also, it varies with the character you're drawing; so it's always really important to have a reference picture with you at all times so you know you aren't messing anything up. For example, drawing the bangs wrong could make their eyes look strange, when the problem isn't anywhere near the eyes.

I can't trace very well me, so i just draw free hand; and i'm very good at it too (especially at Fruits Basket pics)
