The new totals that I have here now finally give me a solid estimate of how much data was lost in the Ezboard hack catastrophe. The stats from the old board show a total of 45,795 posts made there, which means that more than 18,000 were deleted and not recovered by Ezboard.

I have to wonder what the hell ezboard was talking about when they were talking about making attempts at restoration, seeing as how not a single board I go to had anything restored.

They worked on the "restoration" for what seemed like weeks, which from my own personal experience means that there was no formal restoration process in place. If there was it would have only taken a matter of days. Essentially their Titanic hit the iceberg. So confident they were that Ezboard was "unsinkable" they never put in place any process to deal with a catastrophic data loss. Ezboard deserved what it got, but unfortunately it was people like us that paid the highest price. >_<
