I hear the soft laugher drift up from the courtyard below. I smile softly to myself, and close the thick, musty book that I had been reading. I stand up slowly and stretch, yawning. I walk over to the balcony that overlooks the courtyard, and look down. Two little kids, not more than four years old, are chasing each other around the courtyard. Fuu leans against the wall, laughing as she watches them.
I was so happy when the Knights found that they could return to Cephiro at will. Ferio, Lantis, and Ascot had moped around the Castle for days until they found out that the Knights could come back.
?What are you looking at?? A soft voice says from behind me. I shriek and spin around.
?Clef!! I told you NOT to transport here without my permission!? I yell as a staff appears in my hands and I proceed to whack him over the head with it. I huff and stalk out of the room.
I stomp down the corridor, fuming. Arg! I hate it when he does that. I rub my head. Stupid Master Mages who do things just to annoy me.
?What?s wrong?? Umi asks, coming up to walk beside me. I scowl.
?Clef transported again into my room. I think he likes annoying me.? I say grumpily. She laughs.
?I think he does too. He doesn?t do that to us.? Umi says, laughing softly to herself. ?But then you have known him for almost all his life.? I nod and twirl a lock of my brown hair, zoning out. ?Hello? Kaith? Anybody home?? She says laughing, waving a hand in front out my face. I smile.
?I was just thinking?just thinking?? I say softly.
(AN: Crud, this is really bad? ::hides:: Enough with the sappy intro, let?s get on to the bad guy?)
He had been watching the Master Mage for long time. Now, He watches the Master Mage give a small smile and transport himself out of the female Mage?s room. He leans back in his chair and takes a sip of his wine.
?In?ter?es-ting? He says aloud. After a moment, there comes a knock at the door. ?Yes?? He says distractedly. The door swings slowly open, and then closes behind a strange figure. Long black hair falls around a pointed face, while two midnight black wings extend behind him. He stares at the back of the chair with calculating red eyes.
?Master.? He says coldly. The man laughs.
?Please now, call me Yaku! ? He laughs again, waving at the strange figure with his free hand. ?Come now, report!? The creature steps forward, glaring at Yaku. Yaku waits, seemingly unaware of the other?s glare.
? Training is going well, and there are 20 new recruits coming.? The creature reports tersely. Yaku smiles genuinely.
?Good, good! All is going well, indeed! And I think I have a plan!?
::coughs:: This is so cliche...::sighs:: But OK. Please be nice! Thanks to Hikaru-san for the name Yaku! ::hugs::
