I just purchased a 3 episode Rayearth anime... It was based on MKR but had a little of both all sumed up into pretty much a movie with some things the same, other things different. Has anyone seen this before?

Yes, I have this DVD as well. There are many of the same MKR characters in it, but the story and setting are quite different. The good guys and bad guys are different also. However, I did like OAV's a lot because they are different, they're a lot darker and I liked seeing some of my favorite characters playing different roles, especially Ferio and Eagle Vision. ^_^

Yeah, I have one downloaded to my computer...but...its in Japanese with Japanese Subtitles! X_X;;;;;;;;;; I only have 1 though, its the one with Hikaru and the X_X.... if you know what I mean....it made me cry..WAAHHHHHHHHHH!

Yukina gave her Ice Tear Gem to Hiei and asked him to give it to her brother when he'd meet him. It was such a lovely smile. That moment also meant a lot to Hiei, because after seeing that smile, Hiei became a sorta different person. He found inner peace that made him a person with no goal and no reason to fight anymore...Hiei had loved Yukina as his Sister.

Yeah, i was surprised to find Zagato's brother putting a sword up to Eagle Vision's neck, and Ascot dying... It was good, dark, but good. I think its great to see the MKR anime in a new light.

Yes, dark is a good way to describe the OAV's. There's no superdeformed chibi humour at all. Lantis and Eagle Vision weren't exactly friends, were they? ^_^;; The same goes for Ferio and Fuu and Ascot and Umi. The animation itself is very high quality, and some of the backgrounds almost look photographic.

Ah, yes. If you're talking about the OAV where Umi, Fuu, and Hikaru did the whole cherry tree thing with Mokona being some sort of fairy, and Hikaru meeting Rayearth (although that isn't his name anymore), and getting his orb and all that (the others eventually getting one as well), and they get sucked into this whole awesome adventure....

Then yes, I would agree that it was AWESOME!!! I really liked the animation a lot better in that OAV than in the TV series. ...ESPECIALLY how they portrayed Clef! He looked so flippin' AWESOME!!!! When he's like that, I'm so totally in favor of the ever popular Clemi (Clef and Umi) match. ...It just didn't fit when he was a midget. In fact, I even drew a fanfiction pic of it. Haven't colored it all the way yet, though.

so the MKR OVA is not dubbed in english????

Yes, the OAV's are dual language/subtitled if you buy the DVD. What Itena-chan is referring to is most likely unlicensed fansubs which youtube has cracked down on in the past year or so.

So I could go to an online store and buy the MKR OAV's in english? Cool.
