Now that the subject of marriage came up in the other topic, who should Umi choose if she wanted to marry? If you were Umi, would you pick Clef or Ascot? Both are powerful magicians. Clef has more power, but Ascot is taller and better looking (well in the second season anyways), and also has it baaaadd for Umi. ^_^;;

hmmm... that's an interesting question! Personally.. I would go with Ascot-sama =D He is much better looking than Clef in the anime (now, in the OAV.. i would go with Clef *dances*) That's not to say that Clef isn't kawaii either =P I just think it was cute that Ascot grew up for Umi-chan. *GLOMPS ASCOT*

Not an easy choice is it? Clef is more of an intellectual, so I'm attracted to that aspect of him. However, Ascot just worships Umi-chan, everything that he does is for her. So I think that Ascot's pure heart would win me over to him. Say for example that if were Umi-chan and I went into battle against some fearsome enemy, I know that I could count on Ascot to fight for me until his last breath. Clef would probably do the same, but I said probably meaning I have small doubts about him, but there isn't any doubt about Acsot. And he's sooo cute the way he worships Umi-chan, like a little lost puppy. Hopefully he would grow out of it as their relationship matures. ^_^;;



The OAV's are a completely different matter. Clef is still his aloof sorcerer self, but here he's much more self-sacrificing trying to protect a world different from his own. Ascot is there in his young child form again, creating havoc with his monsters, much like when he was first introduced in the MKR series first season. He doesn't have the redeeming qualities that he had in the second season of MKR. So in this case I would probably choose the other way, and pick Clef, if I were OAV Umi-chan.

@_@ so hard to choose... but if I was Umi, i'd choose Ascot =P, gotta love the worshippers.

I've just experienced a massive stroke that destroyed what was left of the part of my brain that restrains my aggressive, emotional actions. as a result, i will now violently, uncontrollably stab you to death with my toothbrush.

XP That isn't too hard for me to answer, because I'm a major Umi/Clef fan. ^^;;;;;; I just think the idea of them together is so cute. ^^;;; And in the OAV...there's no question about it. (I could sit in my room all day picking scenes that suggest Umi/Clef from the manga/anime/OAV. o.o;

Yes, it's a pretty clear choice in the OAV's.



There's quite a few scenes of them in the the second season of the anime and the second half of the manga. One is when Umi goes to Clef when she can't sleep and apologizes to him for teasing him the way she did when they first met. Another one I can think of is when Clef teleports Umi, Fuu, Ferio, and Ascot back to the castle from a battle and he collapses. Umi is the first one there to help him out. Oooh, and I thought of another one. Umi and Caldina were talking together about Clef, and Caldina picks up on Umi's feelings. She prods Umi a little and Umi of course blushes bright red. ^_^;

*nods* ^^ And another scene from the second manga, when Hikaru, Umi and Fuu gets teleported to where Rayearth, Seresu and Windam (for the first time), Presea calls out for Hikaru, Clef to Umi and Ferio to Fuu. =^^=

Then there was the final scene from the anime just before the Magic Knights go home where Umi almost says "it" to Clef but doesn't. Clef figures it out anyways though. ^_^



On the cover of the last DVD of the series, the three Magic Knights are shown each with objects representing their respective boyfriends (love interests?). Hikaru has the pendant she got from Lantis. Fuu has magic voice sender she got from Ferio and Umi has Clef's tiara, the one with the horn on it. ^_^

I'd have Umi marry me. But seriously I'd have to go with Clef, but it's a tough decision. The thing for me with the fact if I was Umi and Ascot was worshipping me it might get knid of annoying.

Hmm... Ascot, I think. If I had to pick between a girl with Clef's personality and a girl with Ascot's, I'd find the Ascot girl's more attractive. Clef's great for a mature mentor type, but his personality seems kind of sterile for a romance. So yeah, I'd choose Ascot if I was Umi. Though I still think she gets the short straw in comparison to Fuu getting paired up with Ferio or Hikaru with Lantis. *murdered by rabid Ascot fangirls*

Eh-heh, I don't think any of the Asmi's are going to get you Casey-san. ;; That's interesting how you turned the perspective around and imagined Clef and Ascot as female. I wouldn't imagine Clef as sterile, but as reserved or withdrawn instead. Clef most definitely has feelings, but he prefers to bottle them up and requires a lot of coaxing to get him to reveal what is going on with him. Ascot on the other hand is very open with his feelings which is great in a lot of ways, especially if you're looking to build a deep relationship with someone.
