Fuu's healing powers Options

I was just thinking, Fuu's healing powers are a bit...too convenient. I find that things are solved too easily with her just being able to cure anyone on the spot.

And on a more personal note, I like seeing the characters injured <3 not in a sadistic way; but I just love the drama of it. Heh. *shot*

What do you think would of happen if she never got her healing powers?

If you can change them to be more realistic, what kind of limitations would her magic have?

MKR was structured with a format based on roleplaying games and the "healer" is one of the traditional role components of RPG's. The other traditional roles of damage caster (mage or sorcerer) and tank (weapon damage) are also present but are distributed mostly between Hikaru and Umi, however Fuu is the only one with the healing spells. Most games have the healer's powers even more broad based than Fuu's and can heal any damage and dispell almost any debuff condition. So I'd have to disagree that Fuu's healing powers are overly convenient. To me they fall very much within the scope of a roleplaying game character. There are some limits to how much healing a character can do though. Once your mana pool is exhausted you can heal no more and I think that Batou-san alluded to such a limitation in Fuu's case. At the same time a good player knows how to manage their healer character's mana and can keep healing for a very, very long time if necessary.

Both your explanations make a lot of sense; and from reading them I agree with your arguments.

I don't think of this as a counter-argument at all(I don't think I even could counter-argue with batou; you're on a whole different level), but something that batou-chan said was a bit interesting, and got me thinking

I have the first volume of the manga right now, and I took a look at the page where they were given their magical powers/capacities(very beautiful; I could look at it for hours). When Batou questioned the "conjuring up massive quantities of fuel and water" , it brought me to that same page; it was as if that the three had become the elements they "conjure". Fuu seemed to be merging with the wind, Hikaru with fire, and Umi with water. So(and I'm not sure whether I can word this right, um... ;;; ), what went through my brain was that the reasone why they can conjure "massive quantities of fuel and water", would be that they are not conjuring their elements, rather that they're letting out a new part of themselves. They ARE fire, water, and wind.

But the thing is that despite the fact that the wind is considered to be "gentle" (like in Cardcaptor Sakura, the WINDY card was considered kind-spirited); it (in my opinion) does not have anything to do with healing injuries. Actually, the closest of the three who COULD actually heal someone would be Umi; like water cleansing and disinfecting a wound, though even that is a bit of a stretch.

Oh, I didn't mean to imply you were always trying to make arguments! It's just that usually on the internet, this kind of situation will turn into a series of arguments and counter-arguments, and I just didn't really want to have to do that. You know, I actually enjoy reading your posts! I'm considered to have a pretty good vocabulary, yet when I read your responses I have to read them over a few times in order to completely understand them. It's a nice challenge(though I sometimes don't have enough time or patience to succeed ^^; ).

Earth and Air, huh? Heh, when I had just started watching MKR, I had figured out Umi's and Hikaru's elements; but I couldn't really tell what was Fuu's "theme"(though if I was japanese; I would of immediately recognized it as wind because of her name. After I figured it out, it was just plain obvious). I had considered her sort of in the "Earth", stuff like trees and leaves...(wow, that was terrible wording.)

And to be honest, the reason(which I hinted in my first post) why I am a bit iffy on Fuu's healing powers are because I like seeing the characters get injured, and the drama that comes with it (especially with Hikaru <3). What it all comes down to is that I'm just a dissapointed fan girl.

The Terminator huh? I've actually been a bit curious of that movie.... How old is that thing?

As for the anime with that kind of stuff; I've googled anime just to get those scenes; so I have a few. lol
