Yu Yu Hakusho Options

[Emiko-chan]

Hello, to everyone here! ^^ I'm here to talk about Yu Yu Hakusho. I've lost interest in the show, but I felt bad that this anime didn't have a topic yet, so I decided to do this. Now, like I said. I've lost interest in Yu Yu Hakusho somewhat, but it's still exciting to watch. ^^ To anyone who doesn't know about the show, it's basically like this:

14-year old punk Urameshi Yuusuke is having a typical day. He's cutting classes, arguing with teachers, and gets into a fistfight with his rival, Kuwabara Kazuma. But unexpectedly, Yuusuke dives infront of a speeding car, and dies, trying to save the little boy!

He is then taken to see Koenma-- a 700-year old ruler with a toddler's body. There, Yuusuke is given a golden egg, as a test to come back to life. Eventually, Yuusuke gets his body back, and must use his new powers to protect humanity. It really is a cool show. ^-^ I really like Yuusuke, since he's voiced by my favorite male seiyuu, Nozomu Sasaki. ^_^

What are YOUR thoughts on Yu Yu Hakusho?

[Shiidou Hikaru]

I saw Yu Yu Hakusho a few years ago and the thing that I most remember about it are the characters. All of the main character group are very well developed over the course of the series, although Yuusuke is the only one at first. Like Emiko-chan said, he is originally the school troublemaker, however coming from a troubled family situation, that is hardly unexpected. He has a rivalry going on with Kuwabara, although it quickly becomes the friendly sort where the two of them challenge to outdo each other. Then there is Botan, the oar-flying "shinigami" (I don't think they ever call her that) that escorts Yuusuke to the spirit realm after his accident and then helps train him for his new job as a spirit detective. She's rather cute and funny at first, but Botan's role slowly diminishes as the series goes on. Three others join up with Yuusuke's group - Genkai, Hiei, and Kurama and they eventually become Team Uremeshi that competes in the epic spirit world tournament. It spans 39 episodes, so it is indeed an epic tournament, but there are many interesting subplots along the way making Yu Yu Hakusho much more than just a martial arts competition show.
