The never ending struggle between the two will always continue due to the fact that people cannot universally agree on where the balance should be made.

Hmm, I'm trying to figure out if we agree or disagree on this concept. It seems to me that it's a matter of whether material and spiritual work against each other or work with each other in harmony. I doubt that any formal proof could be made for either case, but from my own personal experience I seem to see that the material and spiritual realms are in conflict. It is up to the individual person to decide how much influence either has over their own present condition and destiny.

Prejudice is something that is very unfair and very difficult to fight against. I understand what you mean about younger people being preferred for employment versus older ones. In fact all of the newer people my company has hired in my department in the last few years have all been unmarried 20-somethings. Obviously employers find divided loyalties like work vs. family undesirable. v_v
