I'm thinking about how Maria-sama ga Miteru "is set to be translated and dubbed into English for broadcast across its English language networks across Southeast Asia by the anime satellite TV network Animax from March 2007, set to be the series' first English language television premiere." And about why it's being dubbed in English but no info about it being sold in the US is mentioned. Why? I don't understand! T__T

It was translated and dubbed into English for broadcast on Animax, but it had never been dubbed for US release (it might be in the dubbing process now, but in 2005, it wasn't) so it used different voice actors and is more of a translation than a localization. In other words, the dialogue was only changed insomuch as it needed to be to be understandable by English speakers. No lame American jokes, or otherwise. And so many other animes go down that way... I'm thinking of how I just finished writing a letter to a non-existent Kazuya, and wish he existed so I could send it to him. >> Your thoughts? -------------------- |
