I hate people who don't understand the meaning of deadlines with a passion. If I give someone an assignment the week before, I believe they have had more than enough time to at least have a decent start on it, especially given that newspaper paste-up is Monday. Since I value my position as editor, it looks like I'm doing it instead this weekend, praying I can get a hold of the necessary contacts, and that there won't be much revision needed Monday during class. If only the person said they didn't want it, oh well; people have to be unreliable, I suppose. Sigh.

I've never used a non-american keyboard before...and i cant figure out how to put the little dots on top of letters!! *tear tear*

The two dots are called a diaeresis, and it can be entered (with the letters) with a certain ALT+#### code. I don't know the codes, so I go to a Microsoft-based word processor (not from Microsoft Office, though - it won't work there), and do this:

For the diaeresis, you CTRL+SHIFT+:. After doing those three keys, let go of all of them and press the letter you want. Thus, the umlaut a in "Mar" is...

1. M
2. CTRL+SHIFT+: (all three keys at the same time)
3. Let go of all three.
4. A
5. R

This CTRL+(punctuation) formula can be used for grave accents (i.e. ?), acute accents (i.e. ?), circumflex accents (i.e. ?), tildes (i.e. ?), cedillas (i.e. ?), and possible some other letters.

I'm thinking of the word dobitoc...I suppose it's the Romanian word for idiot, only based on the fact that Astharoshe used it and it is the furigana reading for "baka" in her case...

I memorized all the lowercase ones, since I've used them a lot (especially for typing German song titles). There isn't as much use for the uppercase ones though, so I had to check a file I have with a bunch of alt codes. *shrug*
