Eh. Journalism is a separate class, but the students can write stories for the paper for extra credit - that's how we get our newsbeats and sometimes short feature stories. I think it's only fair to teach them how to write in a journalistic manner before forcing them onto a paper staff anyway. That lets them see how they like it anyway...

... and I'm really tired, so I'm heading off to bed. *has to be up and interviewing someone thirty minutes away at 4:45 in the morning v.v;* Goodnight~

Well, yes, of course they learn how to write first...our newspaper has irregular publications...probably the only constant publication is the April Fool's Day publication that everyone waits for. I suppose no one really cares about the other ones.

I finally got past lesson 4 in my Icelandic text? I had a bit of a hard time moving on to lesson 5 because adjectives are so hard...Latin has just three types of adjectives and you can use them for anything...Icelandic has thirteen - ten strong declension (meaning the words end in consonants) and three weak declension (meaning the words end in vowels). And there are even rules as to which declension you have to use! It's quite bothersome. Ekki hefi gaman af a? l?ra ?a?...

Anyway, life's generally going well, with the usual people going crazy about my 101% in Latin, and...oh! I got accepted into UCR. ^^

Ah, no, I didn't apply there. It was the University of California in Riverside. ^^;

I'm taking the same approach in Icelandic as Latin because I have quite a comprehensive grammar and so I can do that. Work out the weird things here and there and try to get a proficiency in it comparable to that in Latin.
