VLC Player will play DVD files, and that has a nice screencap tool. That's how I've always done it, anyway. :x

Yeah, VLC seems to work the best out of the players I have. I prefer using DivX but I normally can't use it with anime downloads. D:

I don't normally like screen caps from the acctual anime. Even at high quality it still doesn't compare to an actualy picture and screen caps normally take lots of time and work to make look nice. But if you've the time and conviction, go for it. ^^

I have way too many DVDs to cap... it's a big project which I'll have fun with over winter break...

... though I wonder if I should make the capping project smaller so I have more of winter break free now, given recent events. x.x;
