Not a lot at the moment. Working on going through a ton of footage for an AMV (40 episodes and a movie), but not a lot else. How about you?

Kind of sounds a lot to me. XD Well, in comparison to academic research or something, it's not too much. Anyway, I'm just kind of online right now, doing nothing in particular.

It's not really a lot. It's basically rewatching the whole series and taking notes on what scenes I might want to use. I'll pick out what I actually want for the song after that, then the assembly usually doesn't take long, since everything is already planned out.

Ah, that makes sense. I would've gone for the song first...but anyway, I have neither the will nor the tools to create such a thing. What're you doing it on?

Well, I actually pick the anime/song pairing first. What I meant was I'll pick out the scenes that I'm actually going to use in the video from the notes after the watchthrough.

This is going to be a Shakugan no Shana video to an old 80s group, but I like keeping the actual song under wraps until it gets shown at the convention I'm entering (in this case, Anime Boston).

Easter weekend. I'm still undecided if I'm going to be attending or not. :/

Aww...well, good luck on it nonetheless.

I, myself, am abstaining from attending Anime Expo because of the unkind treatment on part of the staff last year and the fact that it's in LA. I don't want to go to LA for anime...and when I think about it, the only reason I go to an anime convention (other than the Haruhi gang or Gackt last year) is to shop - something that I can do at my local Japanese bookstore. I don't really think I'll need to be going anytime in the future...unless I get an idea to cosplay, actually follow through on obtaining/making the costume, and/or there's some well-known person who's attending. ^^;

I heard AX had some major issues last year. That's certainly going to hurt them going forward.

I live on the east coast, so I've never made it out west for AX or AnimeEvolution (in Vancouver), both of which I'd like to attend someday. I have managed to hit most of the major east coast cons at least once each over the last several years (Otakon, AB, Katsucon, and Nekocon, but haven't managed AWA yet).

Indeed it did have some major issues...in many cases, the staff either weren't thinking far enough forward or just weren't thinking period. There's also the problem of not informing the attendees of many things, but that's a slightly different matter.

I had plans after AX to go to Otakon this year, but they're not going to be fulfilled. That's okay, though.

Otakon is okay, but it's really too big to enjoy, IMO. To get into anything interesting, you have to line up three or four hours in advance, and then you miss the rest of the con standing in line. I much prefer the slightly smaller cons where it's easy to get from event to event without spending so much time in line. The dealer's room at Otakon, though, is second to none.

...well, then, that sounds like the east coast version of Anime Expo. Any outdoor lines?

Shirotatsu:
Only for registration, at least the last time I went (2003). The con is held in the Baltimore Convention Center and fills it to max capacity, so they're looking for someplace even bigger in the future.

Itena:
Hey, there. How goes?

Haha, so you have come.

Lantis-san, I see...apparently, even the Long Beach Convention Center wasn't enough to hold all of us. Outdoor lines were plentiful, as was sunburn as a result. I don't know the details of LACC, but I know that I'm not going so it doesn't really matter, and that I don't want to go to LA for anime.

As I understand it, the LBCC is several separate buildings, which is why it was necessary to go outdoors to get from one event to another. The BCC is a single building that encompasses almost three entire city blocks, so you can get from any point in the building to another without ever setting foot out outside.

And the LACC is apparently in a bad part of town, too, so you're probably safer not going.
