Hehe, abuse is a good term. Whether it was her position in the ministry (misuse of Dementors), her position as a teacher (punishment of students on fabricated charges), or her position as headmaster as you have noted, Umbridge abused every authority she was ever entrusted with. So the sort of corruption I was alluding to was the internal sort, the total lack of ethics or lack of honor that she has as a person.

Hmm, I didn't check but at this time of day I'm reasonably sure that I'm the only one here. happy.gif;;

Which really makes no sense since I don't how see how the fifth book is supposed to represent any degree of decline for the series. Everyone bitching about Order of the Phoenix seems awfully random. I love the whole series, personally.

Same here, It's just me at the moment.

I don't think that the latter books of the Harry Potter series indicate any sort of decline, however the focus of the author did change around the time of the Prisoner of Azkaban (third book). This is where the story really started to expand immensely and changed from ordinary novels to epic novels. Most authors do this when they achieve a high degree of success and start to get a little "fat and happy". Publishers also allow them more time and resources to write fatter books instead of continuously cranking out smaller ones like lesser known authors. The Harry Potter series is unusual because the success story came during the midst of the series and the change to epic novel status is readily apparent. It's very unlikely that Rowling ever thought there would be more than the first Potter book while she was writing it ... so things change, life is like that. lol

I've been fine. Spending a lot of time with Tsukihime and Kara no Kyoukai, playing Melty Blood here and there, and I was playing Utawarerumono until very recently. Getting excited about the movie release of Kara no Kyoukai...leaving out pronouns like "I" before sentences...XDD

Orientation starts tomorrow so I'll be at UCI from Friday to Sunday. Scared and excited at the same time. It'll be fun is what I'm looking forward to. I can take intermediate Japanese in the winter quarter! I'm happy.

I'm going to eat dinner, I'll be back.
