CLAMP is a all female member creative team that has been producing Japanese manga since 1988. it's current member's today are Ohkawa Nanase (story, script, and character design), Apapa Mokona (drawing, illustration and background), Nekoi Mick (drawing and illustration) and Igarashi Satsuki (design, development, and assistant to drawing and illustration.)

The team started out with 11 members. Their earliest work was a doujinshi (an illustrated fan comic of limited publication) Derayd was CLAMP's first manga, published in 1989.

Fantasy manga is what CLAMP is known for. Their wispy drawings are perfect for their storylines.

When RG Veda was published between 1990 and 1996, the CLAMP group had dropped from 11 to 7. Shortly after, CLAMP only consisted of the four women who are there today.

People are often confused to Ishida Atsuko's relation to the CLAMP group. She created the dark anime series Shamanic Princess and did the character designs for Magic Knight Rayearth. She actually isn't related to the group at all.

CLAMP has been around for 14 years and is still putting out beautiful artwork that is known by it's wonderful techniques.

yes, so that is your basic background information on the CLAMP group. I didn't write this. I took it from my Tokyo Babylon DVD and re-worded it so it isn't so long =D hehehe

I've tried to use babelfish on it too, but that doesn't work either because the pages are in frames. -.- It's a little surprising, to me anyways, that CLAMP doesn't have an English site, considering how popular their material is here in North America.

I know eh! I find that very hard to beleive that there is no english/japanese link to pick your language. It's all pure Japanese. *hits computer* This silly thing won't even let me download a translater to see if it would work for me.

I was thinking that maybe I should write them an e-mail and ask them to make an English site. First I would have to rave about how great their work is, how popular it is in the US, ya'know - butter them all up before asking. Well, not like any of it wouldn't be true, right? :P

That would be a very good idea to send a letter to the CLAMP ladies! I wonder if anyone has ever tried before? And yes, yes, make sure you butter them up. That will always help! But don't forget, their work is popular in the US and Canada ^^; hehe

I'm sure that someday you guys will get to go to Japan, and maybe you can arrange to visit them then? They might not even speak English very well, so there might not be a lot to talk about. Also keep your eyes open for anime cons, one or more of the CLAMP ladies might show up at one. ^_^

I have never been to an anime con before, but I would very much like to go to on (and dress up as Hokuto ;D) I think it would be so much fun! ^^;

hehe, as for Japan, I know I am going! I will find a way XD hehe. As for the language factor, I'm learing Japanese right now. I take classes, but I'm not very good XP hehehe

I would like to dress up, but I can't sew, so I could never make a costume. T_T *cries*

The only way I could get a costume would be to make something up out of regular off the shelf clothing, or pay someone to make it for me. v.v

BTW, if you could dress up, who would you go as Kyo-san?

hi all, sorry to barge in like this...

i just finished watching volume 4 of X and kinda stumbled across this site while trying to find background info on CLAMP. interesting i don't ever remember signing up at this board but i'm already logged in as gally2003 (the screen name i use for everything):

anyways i saw that you all were talking bout cosplay and cons and such. i do a lot of cosplay and have gone to cons before. i'm currently working on a lady arashi costume for my self and a chii costume for my friend. i've already done 5 costumes ( gally, wolfwood, rabi en rose, female vash, and kagome) so if any of you are planning on cosplaying and need any help, feel free to ask:D

You're not barging in at all. Welcome to the MKR board gally2003. ^_^ Please feel free to join in any of the threads that are already going. You've made 5 costumes already? O.o;; Some of them sound really cute too ... I am soo jealous. *cries* If I go to Otakon again this year, I want to go as one of my other favorite characters - Washu from Tenchi Muyo in her grown up form shown below. I'm too tall to go as Hikaru unfortunately. Most of the items I think I can purchase off the shelf. The tough part will most definitely be the hair.

Are you refering to Subaru-kun Kyo-san? The outfit Subaru wears is quite similar to that. I'm in the process of making that outfit! Hokuto wears it in the X TV series, and Subaru wears it in Tokyo Babylon ^__^
