Ithaca Academy was founded in 1892 by a man named Edward Smith. Edward had been to a boarding school as a young child and found it to be exceptional to his education. The only problem? There had been no co-ed boarding schools yet to date, and Edward felt the need for girls and boys to be united in their studies and not have the men always above the women. Thus, Ithaca Academy was created. The first co-ed boarding school at the time. Since 1892, many co-ed boarding schools have popped up around the world-- following in the footsteps of Edward Smith. It is located on the outskirts of Ithaca, New York and covers 10+ acres of land. There are many scholarships and loans available to students who aren't as 'wealthy' as the rest of the student population and accepts diversity with open arms. Their teams are called the Wild Cats and you must be an A student to be on any of the teams. Failure is not tolerated at Ithaca Academy. Neither is bad behavior. Skipping, mouthing-off, smoking, disrespect, and the like are counted against someone on a three strike basis. Three strikes-- and you're expelled. There is no mercy when it comes to discipline. ![]() |
