I'm reading the Song of the Lioness series at the moment. ^^ I'm in the middle of book two. It's pretty cool so far! ^^

Well, unlike the manga topic, it's a little difficult for me to list what I've read, but, hm.
The Historian by Elizabeth Kostova is my current English language book, something that I've been meaning to read all summer but never really got around to completing it or even to reading it until very recently. Very...capturing, you might say. I'm horrible at stating anything along the lines of book reports, so I'll say this: If you like stories surrounding Dracula (to be precise, the historical Vlad Ţepeş), you might like this historical thriller of a book. Even if you're not a Dracula fan (I'm not), it's still a good, long read, especially since it is without the religious "references" and historical inaccuracies that give The Da Vinci Code a bad name. I won't say anything about its historical accuracy, but there's nothing stopping us from finding out after we've read or during our readings of the book. If you have become curious, you can go to the Wikipedia article and check it out. Just don't expect a conventional vampire story. Or, as I am only nearly 200 pages into the book out of 676, much to do with a character called Dracula at all. --- In other news, I've also been reading a book called Kara no Kyoukai, in Japanese, but I don't have the will to summarize what I have read. Just that each episode of the two volume book seems to be its own story and thus if I were to summarize what I have read, I would have to summarize each episode separately. If you are curious at all, you can take a look at my translation here: Shiro's Kara no Kyoukai Page. Only 1/Overlooking the Scenery is really up, and even then only the Prologue, /1, and /2 are up. After that, you can read the translations at Baka-Tsuki...I'm going to make the rest of the translations (if I do any more) private for any of my friends who specifically wants it so that it's not out on the internet. -------------------- ![]() |
