Episode reviews for the second season Options

I'm going to order MKR Season 2 for my birthday coming up, so I'll give my thoughts on the episodes after watching them like I did with the first season.

I haven't felt all that great the last few days. Not really bad, just kinda drugged-up and incapable of too much mental exertion. I'm back to normal now, though, so here we go.

Episode 39: All-Out Attack on Cephiro Castle

I watched this one several days ago and just fastforwarded through most of it to get the gist of it. Hikaru and Umi make a nice team... they have some good chemistry so it's nice to see them work together. I may be stating the obvious, but it struck me in this episode just how much more relaxed and happy Fuu seems around Hikaru and Umi than she does around anyone else. There was one scene in particular where her expression was really bright and happy for a second or two. Cute as hell.

I really liked Hikaru in the scene where she was chasing Eagle. She just calls after him once then attacks him a couple of seconds later. She's definitely not a wishy-washy pacifist of a heroine. She also seemed a lot more mature when she asked Fuu if she was alright; makes me want to rewatch the first episode just to see how much she's changed. Anyway, that residential area has me curious... it's awfully bright for gloomy Cephiro. It's the lesser of the two mysteries, though. A projection of Emeraude appears, and after voicing her displeasure with the current state of Cephiro, the entire castle in engulfed in light. Emeraude showing up is a very interesting plot point and I'm highly curious as to all that she has to say.

I had a bit of writer's block on this one, but I managed two paragraphs anyway. Yay.

Rating for Episode 39: Decent

Badass Scene of the Episode Award: Fuu saving the day was pretty awesome. I also liked the snippets of Lafarga, Ferio, Caldina, and Ascot messing some monsters up (although I find Ascot's hands-off fighting style to be rather uncool, to be perfectly honest).
