ooc: I'm actually a veteran wolf roleplayer, and I've really been wanting to rp MKR for a while. I may have a different roleplaying style than everyone else, so please bear with me.

Also, I'm not too sure of the rules here; so if you find an error, please correct me.

(based on an idea for a fanfiction I have ;P)

Tall gray buildings seemed to ascend forever to the heavens in the gray city that was Tokyo. The few trees that were there did little to help from receiving the constant exposure to the strong UV rays; which seemed to come in violent waves of heat, despite the fact that it was morning; slowing everyone down considerably.

Hikaru Shidou walked slowly towards her school; a grim look on her face as she remembered once again her recent test score that she had received the other day.

"59%..."

She had never received such an incredibly low mark, and it wasn't like she got a hundred percent on everything; but she always was a hard-working student. Hikaru didn't get why her mark had dropped so bad. Of course; there was the fact that her second great mission in Cephiro made her forget everything she had studied. This was a problem.

* * *

As she walked slowly towards the middle school; her negative thoughts swirling through her mind, a familiar warning chill suddenly raced throughout Hikaru's body. Without thinking, her body jumped high in the air, did a forward flip, then landed gracefully a few meters forward on the pavement; a cloud of dust and pebbles accompanying a sliding sound of Hikaru skidding to a stop. Eyes wide with adrenaline and surprise, she looked at disbelief at what was in front of her.

A great monster, in the flesh, was standing before her; a growl being emitted from deep in it's stomach.

(OOC: Itena-san, there are a couple of pinned threads at the top of this forum section with some really basic rules and the character list. However since no one has done any MKR rp in such a dreadfully long time *cries* it would be okay for you to just use any character you wish. Monsters in Tokyo sounds a little bit like the MKR OAV's and seems interesting enough to me. You've started with Hikaru already but that's okay because I like to play Umi-chan too.)

"Enough already!" Umi Ryuuzaki thought to herself as she strolled casually towards her school. Not the type to ever really do anything casually, Umi had however found herself wilted by the scorching heat shortly after stepping out of her front door. "I don't know how much more of this heat I can take! I should be out on the beach today in my new bikini, not walking to school in this stuffy uniform. And Daddy's gone away on a business trip so I can't get a ride from him either." she lamented to herself and let out a long, deep sigh. "Why didn't I take the day off?" she murmered hoping that no one else around her would hear.

A few minutes later, just before reaching her school, Umi saw something odd standing in the middle of the sidewalk a good 20 meters away. The other people seemed to just walk around or through it and not even notice that a non-human creature was right next to them. It stood upright on two legs although it arms were so long that it rested the back of its savagely clawed hands on the ground in front of it. Its skin was a slippery purple color, but what really caught Umi's attention was its one large, orange eye ... staring directly at her. It made no noise but had quite a sinister presence nonetheless, so Umi stopped walking.

"What in the world? What is that thing, a monster?" she quizzed herself. The answer came to Umi quickly enough - "Uggh!" she exclaimed and shook her head from side to side. "This awful heat is making me hallucinate! I must be seeing things." However, when Umi looked back the humanoid thing was still standing there staring at her. "Huh?" Umi blinked her eyes and shook her head again. This time when she looked back the monster was no longer standing in its place - it was galloping towards her very quickly, its slavering, fanged mouth open with hunger. "Eeeek!" she squeaked "w-what is happening? How can a thing like this be in Tokyo??" On pure instinct and without thought, Umi passed her right hand over the glove on her left hand and drew out her rapier. The long, slender, and elegant weapon of escudo gleamed in the bright sunshine as Umi quickly brought herself to stance to meet the charge of the ravenous creature.

ooc: Thank you ^^ Actually, I've been reaaaally been wanting to roleplay Hikaru for a while, so please excuse my selfishness. ;P

"Wha--" uttered Hikaru in disbelief. A monster was in Tokyo? How was this possible!?

The beast; it's colour a disgusting mix of dark green and gray, was around three meters tall. It had a long, thick, tail which looked to be able to easily fling a human many a meter away; with spikes that were as sharp as swords. It's thick arms seemed to have no joints; except perhaps with it's shoulders. It's face was ornamented with white markings, and it's eyes seemed like two red diamonds, with no pupil clearly visible. It's lower jaw was longer than it's upper; it's ears like one of a bobcat's.

Trying to calm her confusion, Hikaru passed over her right hand; calling forth the divine broad sword she had used so many times. Grasping for her sword, she took her familiar battle stance...

Only to find her hands meeting thin air.

Her face scrunching in horror; Hikaru could only watch as the monstrous tale slammed against her in the stomach, her back hitting the wall of a building. The white hot, searing pain engulfed her as she crumpled onto the floor; blood dripping from her middle when the creature's spikes pierced her flesh. As Hikaru struggled to get up; many thoughts whirled through her mind; until she saw the monster's claws heading for her in a swiping motion. Thankfully, her adrenaline granted her enough strength to just barely dodge the swift attack.

Oh God...Hikaru thought. There was no one around, a monster is here in broad daylight, and thanks to her sudden lack of sword, she was rendered injured and defenseless. What in the world was going on?!

Dodging the next attack, Hikaru shrank down to her knees; tightening her clenched fists as her vision started blurring. This wasn't going well; she was going to have to escape the monster for now. Somehow picking herself up, Hikaru started to run; specks of blood creating a small trail behind her.

Umi-chan, Fuu-chan...

Despite its large and ungainly build, the creature moved very quickly which indicated to Umi that this monster was quite strong and powerful however, Umi herself relied on neither of these qualities to counter her adversaries. Her skill in fencing had given her the great disciplines of precision, quickness and agility and along with her past experiences of combat with various strange monsters in Cephiro Umi faced the coming threat with confidence and without fear.

"I don't know why this thing is here in Tokyo, but I don't have time to worry about that now." she thought to herself, instantly sorting her priorities and concentrating on the creature. "It leads slightly with its right arm ..." and that was the only information that Umi needed. Sure enough, the monster took a savage swipe at Umi with its right arm, but being ready Umi used her sword to push herself under its right armpit as the creature ran past her. Wasting no time, Umi spun around to witness the monster scampering with its claws on the pavement, and soon it also reversed direction.

"That thing is pretty slow, but I will not be able to defeat it by avoidance" she observed as it charged for another pass. This time the same thing happened, with the monster unable to lay its claws upon the elusive Umi Ryuuzaki. This time as they turned to face each other again, the monster let out a loud snort of annoyance and its orange eye began to burn a darker red ... clearly it was getting very angry. Hunkered down lower, the creature charged again, but at a slower pace. It was determined not to let its prey escape a third time. To make up for the slower speed, Umi ran towards it, evading its grasp by jumping high into the air over the creature.

When Umi landed however, an unwelcome sensation greeted her. Since childhood Umi had always let her hair grow long, so it was inevitable that somewhere along the line, whether by accident or malicious intent, Umi had gotten her hair pulled. Since the monster was moving slower this time, it had a chance to turn around before Umi did and it had grabbed a great shock of her beautiful waist length hair. The surprise of her neck being pulled back wasn't unfamiliar to her so Umi automatically knew what to do. Resisting would've seriously injured her neck so she just let her feet go out from underneath her and allowed herself to be pulled to the ground. Umi's head, shoulders and behind all hit the concrete sidewalk at the same time causing the world to flash for a brief instant. Immediately intense pain spread from those three places to everywhere in her body.

"Uhhnn ..." Umi groaned loudly in both pain and disgust. "I should've known ... that you would fight dirty." Her moment of misery ended very quickly though as the creature raised its great clawed hand to kill Umi. She was flat on her back, but only Umi's head was pinned - all of her arms and legs were free and instantly Umi took aim at the shoulder of the creature's attack arm. Umi's magical sword wasn't "sharp" in a sense that people commonly understood - a razor blade was like a ruler's edge in comparison and thus with almost no effort the escudo blade surgically severed the creature's arm from its shoulder.

The monster let out a high pitched wail of agony as a green, oily substance that Umi guessed was its blood poured from the wound drenching her and the creature. For a moment the monster writhed wildly and it let go of Umi's hair, however as she tried to get up the monster used its remaining good arm to pin Umi's sword arm to the ground. Then it placed one of its huge clawed feet on Umi's left thigh very effectively pinning her down under its great weight. The crushing weight on top of her already throbbing pains made it almost unbearable for Umi, but still she remained defiant "No! I am not going die like this!"

Just then, a tiny voice was heard in the back of her mind ...

"Umi-chan!"

"Huh?" Umi questioned "Hikaru? Hikaru ... you're in trouble too?" she answered. Then, just like in their days in Cephiro, the fire began to burn hot in Umi's heart as the love of her dear friend surfaced. The creature lowered its bare fangs to Umi's throat to rip it open and with a deft flick of her pinned arm's wrist, Umi tossed her sword hilt over to her free left hand. With one decisive move, Umi's sword beat the monster at its own game. Huge volumes of the creature's oily, green blood vomited from its severed jugular veins as Umi's sword effortlessly slit its throat open. There weren't any howls or writhing this time, the creature simply reflex snapped over backwards and lay still only a meter or so away from Umi.

Slowly she staggered to her feet. Her hair, face and school uniform were completely drenched in the monster's putrid green blood. Looking around, Umi saw that she was surrounded by a wide circle of onlookers staring in silence, with their eyes wide and some with mouths open at the spectacular event that they had just witnessed. Quickly, Umi removed her uniform jacket and used its inside liner to wipe her face clear of the quickly coagulating goo, but the rest of her was hopeless until bath time. She turned to look at the crowd and only made a single statement to them:

"This just isn't my day."

A moment later Umi's thoughts returned someone more important "Hikaru!" The crowd eagerly parted the way when Umi ran off the best that she could in the direction her heart told her to go.

Her hand to her stomach, Hikaru was running from pure adrenaline now; her brow furrowed in pain. The demonic creature had been able to successfully take a few more nicks at her, resulting in a gash on her left cheek, and a shallow wound on her right arm, as well as many other small cuts and that weren't as serious. Her uniform was blood-stained and full of small rips and tears. As it once again tackled her, Hikaru felt herself hit the cement, with yet more pain flowing in her body.

Struggling to get up, Hikaru looked up at the beast in front of her. Why? Why was it here? This wasn't Cephiro, this was Tokyo. If she got out of this mess; she was definitely going to ask Clef about all this, though she wasn't sure whether even he would know.

It was then that she saw a man walk a few blocks in front of her, not seeming to have noticed anything. Eyes widening, Hikaru finally got up; blood dripping onto the pavement as she lifted herself, then started running to her left; to a long, wide alley. This was not the time to question things; this was the time to fight; to protect everyone. With her determination returning, a feeling of desperation began to bubble up in herself. She recalled a sentence she had heard numerous times. When thou doest need me, call my name.

"Rayearth!"

Almost at the same time she had uttered her Mashin's name; a soothing fire seemed to encompass her, surround her, become her. It was a sensation she had felt once before. Her magic, the essence of fire, was returned to her. She was once again a Magic Knight.

A new, fiery light burning within her soul; Hikaru Shidou concentrated all her energy, looked at the monster directly in the eye, and uttered the sacred words she knew so well; the words that seemed to explain all of existence to her:

"Honou no...Ya!!!"

The creature howled an unearthly scream; one that seemed to shake even the great heavens as it's body was completely covered in flames. But the scream lasted no longer than a moment; for it's body was disintegrated to a small pile of ashes in a few short seconds. With a look of relief clearly on her face, and all of her previous energy and adrenaline drained out, Hikaru's knees buckled and her consciousness left her even before she could hit the ground.

Just before her vision failed her, Hikaru managed to make out a person running; though whether they were running was towards her or not, she could not tell; all she could see was a blurred blob. But her heart recognized who it was.

"U..mi...chan..."

Today the street wasn't any busier than normal and it also wasn't unusual for Umi Ryuuzaki to be in a hurry to get to one place or another, so she was quite adept at weaving and bobbing amongst the numerous pedestrians going about their business. This time however Umi wasn't sure if it was her unusual sense of urgency, her grim warrior's visage, the awful smell of the slowly crusting blood of the creature she had just slain, or the fact that she was carrying a very long, very sharp sword, but Umi was certainly gathering much more than her usual amount of gasps, "What the ...?"s, and "Eeek!"s than she normally did.

"Hang on Hikaru, I'm on my way!" Umi thought to herself almost as if she were trying to send a message to Hikaru via telepathy. No logic or rational thought guided her to her friend, only the closeness of Umi's heart with Hikaru's told her that she was growing steadily closer to her friend in distress. Then unexpectedly as Umi was waiting to cross an intersection, a great roar was heard over the din of traffic and bustle of the street. It came from down a side street immediately to Umi's right. No one else seemed to notice or care, but Umi turned and went down the street to investigate. About two blocks from the busy main street, Umi found a large amount of still smoldering ashes spread all over the sidewalk.

"This sure looks like Hikaru's handiwork, so she must still be close by" Umi surmised and started to look around. She held her sword up just in case any new enemies appeared, but none showed. In fact Umi was alone on the desolate backstreet, but she noticed that there were several service alleyways that led off the street in regular intervals. There was even one right at the place where the ashes lay, so Umi went into the dark alleyway to investigate. At first she didn't see anything unusual, but towards the end Umi saw what looked like a half empty plastic garbage bag carelessly tossed on the pavement. A closer look revealed however ...

"Hikaru!" Umi gasped with fright. The sight of her dear friend laying there brought a sharp twinge to Umi's chest, banishing the now dull pains of her other injuries. Quickly, she put her sword away and ran and knelt beside Hikaru. "Oh please no ..." Umi whispered as tears began to well up in her eyes. She gently placed her fingers on Hikaru's neck and when she felt the pulse a great wave of relief washed over Umi. "Thanks goodness you're alive Hikaru and ... well I'm sorry to have doubted your strength. You'd never die that easily" Umi reassured herself and wiped the tears from her face.

Opening her school bag, Umi reached in and retrieved her cel phone and just as she was about to dial 911, Umi realized the circumstances. While fighting strange mythical beasts was old hat for her and Hikaru, Umi knew that there would be a great deal of questions asked of her at the hospital. And if word of strange monsters in the city got into the news media it could cause a general panic in the city. This all made Umi hesitate "uggh ... what do I do?" she thought nervously. "Oh why did Fuu have to go on that foreign exchange? We could really use you right now Fuu!" Umi lamented and looked at poor Hikaru again.

"If I know you Hikaru, you're probably not badly injured. By now Mom has gone out for the day and Daddy won't be back until this weekend so there is no one at my house right now. Let's go there and I'll get you cleaned up." Once the dilemma was resolved Umi awkwardly shifted the unconscious Hikaru up onto her back and began to carry her to her home. Despite her fashion plate appearance and aristocratic family, Umi was physically very strong for a high school teenager and Hikaru's small size made her easy for Umi to carry. The pain of Umi's shoulder bruises returned but she ignored it. "Maybe not for anyone else, but for you Hikaru, there's no question."

Rather than take the busy main roads, Umi carried Hikaru through numerous lightly traveled backstreets to avoid the crowds. The distance was a bit longer, but since there weren't any crowds of people to navigate Umi was able to get home faster this way and avoid a lot of unwanted attention in the process. As she had surmised, the house was empty so she immediately took Hikaru upstairs to the bathroom. Umi's house was a large, spacious Meiji Era mansion, so there was plenty of room to lie Hikaru down on some towels on the bathroom floor. Then Umi immediately undressed to rid herself of her noxiously stained clothes. Then after she had washed her hands and donned a bathrobe, Umi began to undress Hikaru too. Like Umi's clothes, Hikaru's were also hopelessly stained, but with her own blood rather than Hikaru's enemy's. Using the family first aid kit, Umi carefully cleaned and dressed all of Hikaru's many cuts and injuries. Hikaru also had a large bruise on her stomach, but unfortunately Umi couldn't do very much for that.

"So many cuts Hikaru ... what could have done this to you?" and then Umi remembered her own battle with the monster earlier in the day. "Something strange is going on, something bad. These events have all the markings of it. We must not get caught with our guard down again Hikaru." Umi whispered to the unconscious Hikaru as she finished dressing her wounds. "There, that should help a little Hikaru, but you've lost a lot of blood. You'll need a lot of rest for your recovery" she told her friend and gently picked her up off of the floor. Carrying Hikaru in her arms, Umi brought Hikaru into her own bedroom and laid her on her own bed. Hikaru seemed to stir slightly as Umi covered her up in the blankets, but Umi was careful not to let Hikaru wake.

"Okies, rest easy for now Hikaru because I don't think we'll get many opportunities in the near future. Troubled times await us I'm afraid" she acknowledged and closed the bedroom door. Then out in the hall, Umi realized "Eeek! Trouble indeed if mom finds all of this mess!" And with that Umi ran off to do laundry and take her second shower of the day.

"..Hikaru..."

Who was that? It was a deep voice....It seemed familiar....

Rayearth...?

"You must awaken, Hikaru...seek me in Cephiro..."

A blinding flash, and the magic knight found herself in the powerful volcano; the shrine to which resides Rayearth; the Mashin of Fire. The great guardian; it's large, fiery mane crackling and spurting ember; stood in it's great reverence and majesty. Once again, Hikaru found herself in great awe of the proud beast. She tried to take a step forward; but she found that her feet were frozen and wouldn't move. A panicked expression on her face; her arms stretched in the direction of Rayearth, as they tried ever so desperately to reach the Deity.

Rayearth!

"Hikaru...Come to me..."

I can't! My feet; they won't move!

The guardian was silent for a few minutes. His pupil-less red orbs reflected the dancing flames of the volcano; the ever burning floor of the shrine; the infinite fire. He then spoke again.

"You must awaken Hikaru...seek me in Cephiro..."

What? But she
was in Cephiro, wasn't she?

Her eyes widened as her surroundings seemed to wash away like a painting, leaving the confused Hikaru in a world of darkness. Only Rayearth remained.

"...Hikaru...Come to me..."

The red-haired girl suddenly found herself falling; the great Mashin getting further and further away from her grasp. Her eyes closed in defeat as she seemed to fall through the black abyss for all eternity.

* * *

"Ur...urgh--"

Hikaru groaned in pain; tears forming in the corner of her eyes as she opened her lids. Everything hurt. What happened? Where was she? She could barely move, her body was so heavy, so feverish; everything was so blurry...

Rubbing her eyes; the blurred surroundings sharpened, revealing a luxurious and spacious bedroom. Umi's room. A bit confused; she then remembered what happened. 'That's right...! There was a monster...and I was fighting it off...Why am I here then? Where's the monster?!'

Trying to get up, Hikaru gasped sharply in pain, a wave of needles seemingly washing over her, and a sudden sense of dizziness. It was too much for her. Laying back down in defeat; the feverish junior high schooler started to think. What to do now? Remembering she was in Umi's room, she once again struggled up; her breathing labored. She had to see her. The strong-willed Magic Knight finally succeeded in getting herself out of the bed. A bit happy from her success, Hikaru was somehow able to get around by using the wall for support; a large, yet ignored headache forming from her fever. But she needed to find out what was going on. As usual, Hikaru seemed to forget about common sense; seeing as how she could of just waited for her friend to return. Instead; she headed for Umi herself, even though she had no idea where the blue-haired girl was in this great mansion.

* * *

She was so stupid. She's hardly ever been to Umi's house before, and the large mansion was so confusing with all it's rooms and hallways; that when she decided to go back to the room before it was too late; she realized it already was. She could barely stand anymore.

Stupid, Stupid, Stupid...

Umi spun the handle of the shower valve to the familiar position where she knew that it would give her just the right temperature and immediately the friendly sound of the falling water began. Removing her bathrobe, Umi craned her neck around to have a look at herself in the bathroom mirror. She grimaced in anguish as she saw the large, ugly bruises on her back and behind and then let out a sigh. "Thank goodness no one else will see me like this" Umi whispered quietly and stepped into the shower. The warm water in her hair and down her back was like a heavenly ecstasy after the ordeal that she had already been through this morning, so Umi closed her eyes to relish it, even if it was only for a moment.

"Umi ..."

A voice called to her in the darkness. Immediately Umi opened her eyes at the surprise of hearing her name. Even though the gentle hissing sound of falling water had never ceased or changed in her ears, Umi saw that she was no longer in her bathroom shower. She was in a darkened, high vaulted hall and in front of her was a stone wall containing a great and beautiful glyph of a dragon, a dragon that Umi knew well - Ceres. She was in the Sea Shrine of Cephiro. The glyph remained still, but again the voice of Ceres called to her

"Umi-sama"

"Ceres ..." Umi answered in astonishment. Never before had Ceres called to her while Umi was in Tokyo, her home world, so she was quite surprised to see her Mashin here now. It took a moment for Umi to gather her thoughts and inquire. "Why have you called me here Ceres? Is there something wrong in Cephiro?" Soon he answered

"Umi-sama, I have not been in Cephiro, but have remained resting in my dimension since our last meeting. However, I have sensed a great darkness in Cephiro, a great evil that I know not, festers and grows there. You must come to Cephiro Umi-sama and awaken me, the Magic Knights are needed there again."

Grimly, Umi pondered the words of Ceres and then thought of what had happened to her only hours ago. "Does this evil have anything to do with the monsters that attacked me and Hikaru ... err, the Fire Knight, in Tokyo this morning?" she asked.

There was a long pause and the longer she waited for Ceres to answer, the more worried Umi became. Eventually Ceres did answer but in a lower, more serious tone

"If the darkness has grown powerful enough to seek and attack you and the Fire Knight in your own world, it has grown faster and more powerful than any of us had realized. Indeed it may already be too late, the urgency is great Umi-sama. Don me now Knight of the Sea so that we may face this great darkness before all hope is lost!"

The urgency of Ceres' demand greatly alarmed Umi. A great danger was threatening Cephiro at this very moment and she was desperately needed. Her head was already in Cephiro with Ceres, however her heart told her differently. All too well Umi remembered that Cephiro's greatest enemies required the combined efforts of all three of the Magic Knights to defeat them. So no matter how much she wanted to help right now, Umi knew that she could not do it alone. She could not go without Hikaru and Fuu with her and so she answered Ceres "I understand Ceres the need for urgency, however I cannot depart for Cephiro at this time unfortunately. Hikaru, I mean the Fire Knight, was injured this morning in a battle with a monster of some kind and is not well enough to travel. She is in my care and should recover quickly, but it might be another day before she will be able to come to Cephiro. I'm very sorry Ceres, please allow me one more day."

"I understand. You are my master and as such I cannot deny any request Umi-sama. The news you have brought me from your world is grave and I fear that time is much shorter than any of us realized. I will inform the others of what you have told me and we will await your arrival in Cephiro in one day from now."

And when Ceres had finished, Umi let out a sigh of disappointment at her own inability to rise to the situation on the spot. But when she opened her eyes again, Umi squinted at the bright light of her own bathroom again. Quickly she finished washing herself, dried and put on her bathrobe again. "I must talk to Hikaru about this right away" Umi realized even though she had misgivings about waking her injured friend from her rest.

As she was walking quickly down the hall and tying her hair in a turban with a towel, Umi suddenly let out a gasp of shock "Eeeek! Hikaru!!" she squealed as she came across Hikaru in the hallway. It wasn't that far from Umi's room, but Umi could see that Hikaru had already lost her ability to stand. She ran to her dear friend and Umi embraced her as Hikaru slumped slowly to the floor. "Oh Hikaru ..." Umi said forlornly and tears began to well in her eyes. Umi was so used Hikaru's abundant energy and powerful spirit that it really hurt to see Hikaru in such a weakened state. For a moment Umi just hugged Hikaru to comfort her, but soon she picked Hikaru up again and carried her back to Umi's bedroom. Once Umi had Hikaru safely tucked back into bed, she pulled a chair over to the bedside and watched over her friend. The words of Ceres ran around and around in her head, but looking at Hikaru in bed had Umi in a greatly troubled state. "Please ... get well quickly Hikaru ... please ..." and Umi trailed off and began to sob quietly.

(ooc: lol, they're not even thinking about their schools right now, are they?)

"Umi-chan..."

As Umi-chan hugged her, Hikaru became a bit upset by her friend's worried expression. She had by now remembered that she had defeated the monster, so that was good; but the magic knight was frustrated at how weak and vulnerable she had become, and she just couldn't bear seeing the anguished look in Umi's eyes. The fact that her sword never appeared also confused her; in fact, it was only because of her lack of sword that things turned out like this. As Umi-chan picked her up, Hikaru felt regretful that she let herself get so injured; she hated worrying people like this. 'I'd rather have her scold me...'

* * *

Though it was uncomfortable getting under the sheets; Hikaru felt a little better in the bed, since it helped relieve the weight of her injuries, though the pain was only slightly more bearable. The deep wounds in her stomach seemed to burn like a constant, excruciating fire, and it was probably the cause of her high fever. What hurt her more than anything else, though, was seeing Umi cry for her sake. As Hikaru gently wiped a tear off her friends face, she wished that Fuu would return. Then Umi would cheer up, that was certain.

"...I'm sorry..."Hikaru regretfully stated, her voice in a weak, feverish tone,"...that I'm causing you...sadness...Umi-chan. Please...don't cry..."

Besides, they had much more to worry about than Hikaru's injuries. Something was amiss. It didn't matter whether she was wounded or not; she'll just have to force herself; simple as that. The real problem here was that something was happening, something was changing. It was-it was almost like Cephiro and Earth were...merging together. But how could that be possible? Rayearth was calling for her; perhaps he has the answer. Clef probably knew something about this as well. No, this was urgent; they didn't have time to wait for her to heal. If they don't do something now, something terrible was going to happen; she could feel it. And if her hypothesis was right, and Cephiro and Earth were merging, what would be the consequences? Would they peacefully just become one world, or will they clash and destroy each other? And what triggered this transformation? Was it an evil force, or was it something from our own hearts? She needed answers.

Struggling to sit up and move closer to the edge of the bed, Hikaru looked at Umi-chan with a serious look on her face; her eyes clear with determination, despite her head being filled with a dizzying haze, despite the fact that her stomach's wounds reopened as she got up, despite her large headache that seemed almost unbearable. Heck, it was hard to just to turn her neck, and it was a weird and scary feeling, not being able to stand on your own two feet. But though her body was weak, Hikaru's spirit was strong; and all the pain in the world seemed as unimportant as a small paper cut. Though she could really use some painkillers right about now.

Though her voice was weak and mumbled, the message was strong,"Umi-chan...let's go...to Cephiro...now."

Right after saying that though; a sudden, hard wave of nausea hit Hikaru. Her eyes widened as she wretched onto the floor; a mix of vomit and blood splattering onto the lovely carpet. Her throat and stomach burned horribly, and all of her previous energy was sapped. Coughing a slight amount of blood, The injured Knight suddenly felt extremely woozy; so that her head ended up falling awkwardly onto her friend's lap.

(ooc: Lol, how gross; let's try not to visualize that too much...*shudders* Too late for me, my brother just started hurling too...)

((ooc: lol, I told you I love these kind of situations, right? Of course I'd make it serious. <3

So you're playing an extra, eh?(I say a lot of "ehs", don't I? But I can't help it, I'm Canadian.) You can be Clef or Presea or something when we eventually get to Cephiro. But I just realized we have to wait till Hikaru replies(oops). How about we start a new roleplay too? It can be in a new thread, or it can be through pms.

"Silly-Billies". That word makes me giggle. <3))

(OOC: *Gets whiplash due to unexpected plot turns* Owch ... Yes, Batou-san is correct about Hikaru's condition suddenly becoming beyond Umi's ability to treat her. However, I disagree that Fuu could not have been introduced at this point. Since their mashins have contacted Hikaru and Umi already it would be logical to assume that Fuu's has contacted her as well and passed along information learned from Ceres and Umi about Hikaru's condition. Since Fuu knows how to travel between worlds, getting back from wherever she is should not be an issue either. Fuu would be the ideal hero to heal Hikaru, however a paramedics, ambulance, hospital scene will be fun to play around with too. I'll have to give it a bit of thought as to how Umi is going to handle this tenuous situation. Obviously explaining that Hikaru got into a fight with a monster will not do. happy.gif;;)

ooc: yes, I was wondering how Umi would take this situation...If I were her, I'd panic for a few seconds. Then we could have the whole fun hospital scenes; and maybe they could make a break for it before they get questioned?

.... Too many oocs; let's delete them once you reply Hikaru-chan.

EDIT: ha ha, deleting them is not an option for me, I guess. I really am too used to Proboards. laugh.gif

Umi didn't need an explanation from Hikaru. She also yearned with the same desire to return to Cephiro that Hikaru did, to return to the world that needed them. But at the same time Umi could not take the risk of at the same time losing something equally precious to her - her dear friend Hikaru. Her friend that was more like a sister to Umi who had no real sisters of her own. Hikaru's determination to go to Cephiro, or do anything for that matter, had always been an inspiration to Umi and for a moment that hope shone again for her, However, Hikaru's sudden turn for the worse drew a frightened gasp from Umi, followed by another wave of anguish.

"Oh Hikaru ... Hikaru ... why? Why can't you put yourself first for once?" Umi lamented in her own thoughts at her friend's dangerous level of selflessness. Fortunately the housekeeper, who normally would not ever interfere with any of Umi's affairs, had become concerned enough with Hikaru's condition and had called the emergency number. She had hoped that she could have handled the situation herself, but Umi knew that without Fuu to work her magical healing, the hospital was the next best option now. Hikaru had to live, the Magic Knights could never be whole without her and Cephiro would be in dire straits without the Magic Knights.

"Hang on Hikaru, help will be here soon." Umi tried her best to comfort Hikaru while gently holding Hikaru's head up in her lap. Hikaru's fever was burning up and it was all that Umi could do to not burst into tears. One of her best friends in the whole of two worlds was dying right in front of her and there wasn't anything that she could do about it. It seemed like an eternity but was only about ten minutes or so later when the doorbell chimed. It was answered by the housekeeper and Umi could hear downstairs the emergency technicians introduce themselves. Umi swallowed hard. Her intense feelings had scattered Umi's thoughts a great deal. Then footsteps were heard on the stairs. She knew that there would be questions and that she would have to answer so Umi composed herself the best that she could as the two EMT's entered her room.

"Thank goodness you're here! Please, please help Hikaru!" Umi pleaded trying to not sound too pathetic.

(ooc: I decided to change the size to everyone else's. Now, let's see...Batou-chi, what about now?)

It was a world of fire. But this fire was not her ally; it was an icy fire. Her insides felt as if they were going to go roll inside out. Her head felt like it was going to split apart. The pain overbore her; consumed her, and she could not tell apart time; she was lost in her own fevered world of pain. A world that she slowly slipped into without realizing it; the same kind of sensation as falling asleep. The outside world; her consciousness could not really reach it. She was so much taken over from this torture; that she could barely remember who she was, or what situation she was in.

After a while though, things started to mercifully numb, and she felt less and less attached to the horrendous pain. She felt almost completely detached from her body. It all started to slowly go away. Her mind slowed down, until she didn't need to think at all. All she could see was the back of her eyelids. The strong desire to let go was all she could feel, for she knew that if she did, a great warmth was awaiting. She just needed to fade away...

...Fade away...

No.

Hikaru suddenly saw flashes of images, future images of the consequences; consequences if she indeed let go. Consequences that she herself imagined.

A flash of the ruined Cephiro; a destroyed and surrendered world. All it's previous splendor was replaced with an ever rumbling world; of dark skies and everlasting storms. All it's people had disappeared from it's surface; all her precious friends, gone forever. Armageddon was all she could see before her.

A flash of a destroyed Earth; it's surface desolate and lacking of life. The animals and people all laying as corpses. Apocalypse was all she could see before her.

A flash of the faces of all her family and friends, they're tears never ending; never able to move on; never able to fully enjoy life. They would all change for the worse, their wish to see Hikaru never to be granted. Sadness was all she could see before her.

A flash of the faces of Umi and Fuu; they're anguish and suffering slowly sucking their own lives from them. Their bodies would deteriorate from lack of eating. They would withdraw from society; their wish to see Hikaru never to be granted. Broken hearts were all she could see before her.

She won't let that happen.

What kind of a person would she be, if she just gave up? For what reason did she face that monster? To protect. If she died, it would be all for nothing. She wouldn't of protected anyone. She must fight.

..."Hang on Hikaru...."

...Umi-chan!

Hikaru snapped back into reality. Her paled skin got a little colour back, though her body was still cold enough for her to be shivering excessively. Her eyes were open now, and she could recognize her surroundings.

It was then that Hikaru noticed the warm hands embracing her head. Such warmth, how good it felt. Ever so slowly, her hand reached the cheek of Umi's; the love she felt towards her dear friend the greatest she had ever felt. Turning her head, she looked up at Umi; a small smile on Hikaru's face. This person's voice saved her, she was sure of that, and she wouldn't ever forget it. 'Thank you.'

Her voice, even more of a mess than it was before, uttered a simple sentence, and a powerful promise.

"U..mi...I...won't...die..."

* * *

The next few minutes were certainly full of trials. Many times, her eyes wished to close; for Hikaru to be sucked once again to nothingness. But she didn't let it happen; her powerful spirit somehow kept herself awake. For support, Hikaru fiercely embraced Umi; using her body warmth like a life-line, in-case she found herself slipping into unconsciousness.

Her stomach engulfed her in pain. Her throat burned horribly. Her life force was low. But there was never an inch of doubt in Hikaru that said she wouldn't make it. She wasn't about to let a mere monster kill her. As she saw the EMTs enter the room, she knew for sure that she would survive. Even though Umi's plea to the technicians were for Hikaru; the red-haired girl's only thought was that now; Umi would be a bit more reassured, and that she could save many from anguish.

(ooc: Oohooh, I sure made a lot of mistakes, now, how to fix that? *looks at post* Uh oh, this could take a while. O.O;;; And even then I could still be inaccurate.

So you had ended up experiencing a GI? That must of been horrible... *hugs Batou-chi through empathy*

Thanks for the input, Batou-chi <3)

Umi immediately stepped aside to allow the EMT's to do their work. It took all that she had not to break down in tears as they wrapped Hikaru up for a ride on a stretcher. When they had asked her about the circumstances, Umi told them that Hikaru had been victim of a hit and run accident that had happened in the street right outside of Umi's house. At first Hikaru didn't seem to be badly injured Umi told them, but that must have been due to Hikaru's strong will and spirit. The real extent of her injuries soon became apparent and thus an emergency call was made. Hikaru's grave condition had Umi very worried, but the fact that she was now in the hands of medical experts brought some form of relief for Umi. "Things will be okay now Hikaru." she thought to herself in reassurance as the EMT's carried Hikaru downstairs and out to the ambulance on the stretcher.

When Umi asked if she could come along for the ride, the EMT's allowed her to come. They were a bit dismayed that Umi wasn't related to their patient since some form of consent from family would be needed to perform medical procedures now that Hikaru was unconscious. However Umi was able to help them with that after all. Once everyone was inside and the ambulance began to drive away to the hospital, Umi called the Shiidou residence on her cel phone. It rang for a long time and Umi realized that Satoru was probably conducting lessons in the dojo and might be upset at the interruption. However, Umi knew that there wasn't any way to avoid it in this case since Hikaru's other brothers were in school at this time of the day. Eventually the phone was answered by Hikaru's oldest brother Satoru.

"Hello, Satoru, this is Umi Ryuuzaki"

They knew each other rather well, so there wasn't much formality to their conversation. After a pause

"I'm sorry to bother your Satoru, I know that you're busy, but there's been an accident ..."

Another pause
(OOC: we're only hearing one side of the conversation)

"It's ... it's Hikaru." and Umi's composure started to melt. She winced visibly as she continued "She's been hurt very badly."

The voice in Umi's cel phone started to get frantic with the revelation of the bad news, but all Umi could do is bite her lower lip as she listened to Satoru's concerns. Ever since the death of her parents, Hikaru's oldest brother Satoru had taken over their family's dojo and was also Hikaru's guardian. He was always very fatherly towards Hikaru so Umi knew that he would take all of this very seriously. Umi did her best to try to calm Satoru.

"I'm with Hikaru now and I'm really worried too Satoru. We're on our way to Tokyo General Hospital, please come as soon as you can and meet me there. I can explain more when you arrive."

There was another pause as he agreed and the two of them said goodbye to each other. Umi's heart sank after the call was finished. She felt horrible having to announce such dreadful news to Hikaru's family. Hikaru's brothers were always so affectionate with her and Umi often found herself a little jealous of how close Hikaru and her siblings were. Umi had no siblings of her own but her close friendships with Hikaru and Fuu had made her close with their families too which included sharing the pain of this tragedy.

As Hikaru felt herself being transported on to the stretcher, a wave of relief washed over her. It could best be described as being able to get into bed after a long day. Her eyes slowly closed, and her consciousness slipped for the third time that day.

* * *

She was walking. Walking ever so slowly. Her bare feet sank into the snow with each painful step. She had nothing but her school uniform and a scarf on. The wind and snow whirled around her in chaos, and her hands were brought to her brow. The howling blizzard stung her eyes as she squinted to look out to her destination.

The great volcano stood in it's grandeur before her; so close, yet somehow so far. Perhaps she would never reach it...

Oh, but she will. Her doubts were erased, and her cold feet started moving once again. Her heart burned with the flames to keep her going. But was the fire big? Sometimes, the heart is not enough...

Then I shall aid thee, O seeker of Fire.

Hikaru closed her eyes as she felt an overwhelming amount of fire around her. The warmth encouraged her, pushed her forward. She started running, her sword finally in her hand.

* * *

Hikaru's left hand slowly began to illuminate, though the medical personnel did not acknowledge this. Hikaru's glove appeared in a translucent, almost imaginary form; as the Magic Knight's hand could still be seen through the embroidered fabric. The red orb glowed familiarly, and a light in the form of a weapon was projected. The broad-sword had been recovered; though, unlike Umi's rapier, it could not be seen by anyone other than the ones of Cephiro.

Still in her unconscious state, Hikaru nevertheless grasped the divine weapon of Escudo. As it was felt in her hands, the Magic Knight seemed to regain a little more colour in her skin; her glove disappearing, leaving only the sword in this world. It was then that a snake-like fire seemed to spurt from the handle, spiraling around the weapon till it's tip; where a figure seemed to be created through the fire. It seemed to only be a large bundle of pure fire...until it shaped to become a bright outline, and then the truth was revealed.
For right there, staring directly at Hikaru, was the great Mashin of Fire. Like the previous monsters, he was ignored by the ambulance workers.

Turning his calm, pupil-less red eyes towards Umi; the awe-rendering Guardian spoke in his magnificence and grandeur to the Water Knight, his deep voice tangled with a sense of deep concern.

"Hikaru...is injured."he said, his statement more of an inquiry than anything else. His fiery mane crackled and spurted ember, but if one was to touch it; they would only meet air. For there was also a sense of transparency with Rayearth; he was there, but not there.

ooc: I wonder if Umi has ever seen Rayearth's beast form before?

(OOC: A good question there Itena-chan. I would guess no, that none of the Magic Knights had seen any of the Mashins in beast form other than their own. However, I couldn't be certain without reviewing the anime and manga again.)

Umi held her breath as she witnessed the startling changes to Hikaru's gloved hand as they grew more dramatic, eventually culminating in the appearance of Hikaru's mashin, Rayearth. The medical technicians appeared to be completely oblivious of what she saw and knew that it was best to leave them out of this and let them continue to care for Hikaru. Never before had Rayearth or Windom appeared in beast form and communicated directly with her, so Umi knew that the situation was at a crisis now. If Rayearth needed to speak with Umi then it could only mean that he had lost contact with Hikaru ... this was very bad.

Since Umi heard Rayearth's inquiry in her mind, she knew that there was no need to speak to him verbally and could communicate directly to him with her thoughts.

"Yes. Hikaru is injured very badly Rayearth. And Fuu, I mean the Sky Knight, is nowhere to be found. I fear that something dreadful may have befallen her as well. We are taking Hikaru to a hospital where we will try to heal Hikaru with the best medical science our world has but ..." Umi turned away from Rayearth's before finishing "... she may still die."

Umi began to weep quietly for a moment as the silence remained between her and Rayearth. For the first time Umi began to realize that Fuu may have met the same fate as Hikaru and that was why she had not yet arrived with Windom to rescue Hikaru. All of the sudden Umi began to feel so very alone. Without Hikaru and Fuu at her side the fate of two worlds might rest in her hands alone. This great weight now made itself felt in Umi's chest and shoulders and she began to tremble slightly. With pleading eyes, Umi turned back to face Rayearth "Please help Hikaru Rayearth. I know that I am not your master, but I know that Hikaru wants to live. Her will is infinite, beyond any person or creature that I have ever known, so I know that Hikaru wants your help. And somehow I think that you know this too Rayearth, so please use whatever power you have to help Hikaru and save her. Not only do I ask because I love Hikaru like a sister, but also because ... I do not know if I can save Cephiro without her." and as she stared earnestly into Rayearth's gaze as Umi finished her plea to Hikaru's mashin.

The intense commmunion with Rayearth had cause Umi to lose a lot of the awareness of reality around her, however that was brought back with a shocking jolt. Her and everything else in the ambulance was thrown forward as the sound of screeching tires greeted Umi's ears. It was all the EMT's could do to protect Hikaru from what was happening, so Umi turned to the front of the ambulance. There was a passport window between the back of the ambulance and the front cab where the drivers were, so as soon as the vehicle came to a stop, Umi opened it and inquired within "Hey, what's going on? Did we have an accident?"

For a reply came a dull thud followed by a weird crunching sound. Instinctively, Umi hid her face from the passport window opening just an instant before a shower of blood shot through the window into the back of the ambulance. Now completely shocked out of her melancholy of a only a few minutes ago, Umi's adrenaline began to surge again. Even without seeing outside, Umi's combat instincts told her that this was another attack. Not satisfied with the results of earlier today, whatever force was sending the monsters after the Magic Knights had returned to finish the job. Umi knew that she had to act, indeed there was no one else that could. With one last look at Rayearth Umi apologized "I'm sorry Rayearth, things are worse now, I must go." and with that Umi threw open the side door of the ambulance and jumped outside.

Without hesitation she drew her sword to face the enemy, however it was nothing like the one she had fought earlier. The new monster that had appeared stood about ten meters tall on four legs. It had a mouthless head, but its chest was nothing but a mass of about two dozen very large tentacles. Several of the tentacles were shedding vehicles of every kind off of itself after they had crashed into it. The downtown street scene was a mass of wrecked cars and whatever people had not already escaped from the monster were busily working on their escape. The monster was also using three or four tentacles to attempt to break into the ambulance. The windshield was already smashed and drivers were already dead, but yet it kept trying to break the vehicle open and it hadn't yet noticed Umi.

"It's ... it's trying to get Hikaru!" Umi exclaimed to herself, well there weren't any other people nearby to hear her. "Not if I have anything to say about it!" Umi no longer saw any point in worrying about her identity as a Magic Knight and what would happen afterwards. Holding her sword upright over her head Umi shouted at the top of her voice: "Come to me ... CERES!!" At that command, an intense vortex immediately enveloped Umi and in the blink of an eye she was tranformed into the royal blue Sea Knight. The monster who had previously ignored her now took notice of a new threat. Its single large eye just looked at her at first, but it soon grew wide with terror as the great mashin Ceres appeared from nowhere standing astride over his master, the Sea Knight. Umi immediately disappeared to take her place inside Ceres and the monster turned back to the ambulance. Not out of ignorance this time as it worked desperately to complete its objective with what little time it had left. Its efforts were short lived as Umi took two pavement crushing steps with Ceres and used her sword to precisely sever all of the creature's tentacles that were working on the ambulance. They fell limp as Umi sunk the razor sharp claws of Ceres' left hand into the creature's shoulder and lifted the monster upright.

The Sea Knight scowled fiercely at the monster as she lifted it up to face her and Ceres. "How dare you attack the weak and innocent? Now come and fight someone your own size!" she addressed it. Unable to free itself from the grip of Ceres, the multitentacled monster wrapped its appendages around the left arm of Ceres and started to pull the mashin and Umi down with its massive body weight. Undaunted Umi made the reply "You'll have to do better than that!" and the monster all of the sudden found that its body weight had been greatly reduced. Umi had used her sword to separate the monster's head and shoulder from the rest of its body. Because it had no mouth the monster made no noise, but its remaining attached tentacles writhed in agony. Umi, satisfied with the progress so far flung what was left of the monster onto the pavement below, scattering great chunks of it everywhere. With her finishing blow, Umi split the head of the monster open with the sword of Ceres.

The stillness of peace that follows combat settled over the scene. "Thank you again Ceres for your aid, but I must see to Hikaru, I have to make sure that she is alright." and Umi once again appeared on the ground next to the ambulance. It was badly battered, but all Umi had to do was pull on the door handle to open it up. The doors weren't locked, but to a creature without human hands they might as well been. The EMT's of course had never seen a Magic Knight before and therefore they just stared in speechless awe at Umi and what she had just done. But she just quietly asked them "How is Hikaru? Is she alright?"

(ooc: sorry Batou-chi, I end up posting even though it's your turn. Also, I'm about to bend a few rules here...just like a fanfiction, lol.)

As the shaken emergency medical personnel looked towards the injured girl, they found the EMT who was caring for her quivering in fright; pointing at a strange fiery monster that hovered defensively over the patient. Panicking, they tried to bring the strange beast to the attention of the girl's companion; only to find that Umi wouldn't attack the fiery dog. It was then that it's pupil-less orbs turned and walked in his grandeur towards the petrified people, and uttered the following sentence in their confused minds,“I am not thine enemy, strangers.”

The small group, temporarily distracted from the sudden telepathy; gasped in surprise when a monstrous roar was heard right next to them. It was then that they saw Hikaru, awake and conscious, struggling as she barely defended herself with her sword, the creature's claws getting closer and closer to Hikaru's skin. This monster was very similar to the one that Umi had fought first, only it was of a smaller size.

With a roar of anger, the Mashin of Fire lunged itself at the horrid monster; easily destroying it with a quick swipe of it's fiery claws. Taking a glance outside, it was clear that many more monsters had appeared. He then moved towards Hikaru, allowing her to embrace his mane, and time stopped for the two of them.

“Hikaru, you have awakened.” the Spirit of Fire stated, his expression unreadable.

“Ray..earth...” said Hikaru, clinging onto her Guardian's fiery coat; relinquishing in it's warmth with great fervor; somehow immune to the raging flames.

“Umi... has informed me of thy situation,” he uttered; his voice never wavering as he continued,“...that ye might not survive from those wounds. That you might die.”

Die... Was she really dying? Was it still really that bad? A sudden pang was felt in her chest as the word rolled over many times in her head; she was going...to die. An emotion bubbled up as reality of the situation overwhelmed herself. Her instinct to survive sped up Hikaru's heartbeat; her eyes widening as she thought, 'I don't want to die!'

Wait, she won't. Remembering her previous thoughts, Hikaru breathed in deeply in order to calm herself. If she didn't want to die, she'll just live instead. It was as straightforward is that. She can't die now. Not just for her own sake, but for everyone else's too. She must keep her promise. She must defend everyone instead; she must fight!

“I won't die.” she eventually replied; not a shred of panic or fear lingering. Letting go of the great mane, Hikaru looked directly at the Mashin; an expression of yearning clearly readable on her face. A desire for battle; an urge to protect. A long moment of silence followed between the two of them; a strong connection between Knight and Guardian.

“...I understand, thy wish shall be acknowledged, Hikaru.”

Rayearth stared at her for a while longer; closed his eyes, then slowly opened them again. The clock started ticking once again; and the two were brought back to reality. Stepping one foot back, the Majestic Beast observed his master; a great sense of respect replacing his usual monotonous expression. His next words were not ones of telepathy; rather, they rumbled through the air in great waves of sound.

“Don me now,

“O Great Fire Knight;

“Warrior 'till the end of Time itself!”

As she was transported within the great Mashin. Hikaru felt the most wondrous of feelings. It was similar to gaining her magical abilities, only that it was multiplied and concentrated tenfold. The warm fire surrounded her as she merged with Rayearth, in a way she had never before experienced.

Beside the ambulance; instead of a robot-like beast, stood the great Guardian still in his beast-form; the weapon of escudo strengthening his teeth and claws; the fire of his peltage fuller and stronger; his overall size as large as his mecha form.

Ah, but it didn't take away the pain, realized Hikaru; standing with great difficulty in the familiar bubble. No, Rayearth could not heal any injuries; he could only give her the strength to battle. She knew that she shouldn't even be able to move, let alone stand and fight right now; it was only because she had merged with the Mashin. That was what his main purpose was, after all. But that did not mean she was going to let herself die in battle. Her promise to Umi will be kept; no matter what happens. Turning her head to her dear friend, she said, “Umi-chan, let's fight together.”

Then she saw the destroyed environment around her; the panicking innocent bystanders...and the dead drivers of the ambulance. The Fire Knight stared at the corpses with a shocked look on her face; she had failed to protect them. They had died in her place. Tears formed in Hikaru's eyes as she regretted not doing anything sooner.

They shall be avenged.

And with that, the great Mashin roared in sync with Hikaru's great battle cry, and she swept into the now enormous amount of monsters that filled up the street; not fighting at her best ability, but well enough; considering everything.

(ooc: Not the greatest post. A note; I tend to edit my posts a lot, and certain things change... I'll add the "Edit by" line from now on...)

((ooc: In that case, I'm guessing it's Hikaru-chan's turn....

But you know, Batou-chi; you got me curious.

How exactly would you be manning the monsters? lol

EDIT: I think I found a question to my earlier question, Hikaru-san. I looked a bit, and it seems that Hikaru and Fuu got a glimpse of Celes, but Windam and Rayearth weren't seen-- that is, until one of the very last pages of the sixth volume, it was where Mokona and the Mashin departed to other universes, and the Beast forms were seen then; though I'm not exactly sure whether those three would notice at such a time ^^; ))
