Title: Our Medieval Roleplay Game!
Post by: Diamond on December 28, 2004, 01:36:14 PM
(OOC: hi! This first post will just be a copy over of the post from the old forums. ^^)

me:

A young woman walked alone near a large, swift river. She had short, dusty green hair and haunting grey eyes, and her face, though it bore a quiet smile, reflected a great sadness. Her tunic was a beautiful shdae of blue, and the shorts she wore under it were black. Her most striking features, however, were her sword belt and the seven bells. She was Suiiki, a former necromancer. She was a mage, a mystery...a lost girl.

Suiiki moved into the forest, reluctant to leave safety of the water's edge.

Not 2 hours later a cold, sinister hand gripped Suiiki's shoulder, bringing her dangerously close to the gate to death, to that horrible, icy bridge...Suiiki snapped back to herself and drew her sword, turning to the dead thing she said "Ye shall never defeat me! That which is dead shall remain dead, and never again shall I raise it!"

Dead person: Suiiki, bound by the choker you wear to the art of necromancy, breaker of your oath to the great Baka-sama, tonight you shall fall at my hand.

Suiiki: We shall see this night who falls. One of us shall cross the bridge of ice and go on to the judgment that awaits them tonight.

*Suiiki attacked with her sword, a beautiful spelled blade that shimmered with or without light. The battle ended quickly. Suiiki called upon Saraneth and Kibeth, Binder and Walker, and sent the dead person back into death. The person, for after death it is nearly impossible to distinguish between male and female, went beyond the point necromancers always stopped at, and on to whatever "judgment" awaited him or her...whatever lay beyond the misty veil.*

*Suiiki set up camp. If her instincts were correct she would be entering a town the next day.*

Fushigi:

A tall young woman wipped her head around, a stream of the silver waist long hair slowly fellowing, as the crowd of villagers coming into view. She cursed under her breath for being such a fool in believeing that she could trust him.

Villager #1: You're the one! *pointing his pitch fork at Sascie* You killed them all!

The crowd grew louder and larger. Sascienne pulled her cloak closer to her body. This good-for-nothing piece of cloth cost a lot, and there was no way she was going to ruin it now.

Sascie: I told you once, and I'll tell you again, I did not kill those villagers. I've been tracking that demon for weeks now, and you *pointing towards the crowd* screwed it all up!
Villager #2: You have blood on your cloak. The blood of my wife!
Sascie: *glaring at the villager* If that was blood, you wouldn't be here now. Now, if you please.

Sascienne walked towards the nearest opening, trying to find a way out of the middle of the crowd, only to be caught off by another group of angry villagers.

Villager #1: You killed all my children, and you will pay with your life, demon.
Sascie: Demon? What are you talking about? I am no demon.
Villager #2: Your ears *points to dog-like ears on top of Sascie's head* and your eyes *this time pointing at the bright green stars that glowed in place of her eyes* are those of a demon!!!You are a dog demon!
Sascie: My father was the wolf demon, Etolo. My mother lived in this village all her life, until she left it for my father. And if I'm not mistaken, uncle *glaring at Villager #1* my cousins died a year ago from fever.

At her last words, Sascienne jumped high over the crowd and landed on the roof of a villager's house. Taking one last look at the crowd trying to fellow her up the house, she jumped off the roof and ran towards the forest.

me:

(Hey Fushi-chan, does Sascienne know about necromancers and such? And do you mind that I borrowed her to advance the plot?)

SUiiki came alert as a noise broke through the silence of the forest. Instinctively her hand flew to saraneth, but she did not have time to draw the bell before a girl collided with the half-asleep necromancer.

Suiiki: Oh my, you aren't dead! *realizing what she just said* I mean...oh dear... Embarassed
Sascienne: Of course I'm not dead. What on earth were yuou thinking?
Suiiki: I'm sorry, I'm very sorry, that isn't what I meant to say. Are you all right?
Sascienne: Yes. And you?
Suiiki: Yes I'm all right. My name is Suiiki, what is yours?
Sascienne: I am Sascienne. I come from the village nearby here, but I cannot go back there now.
Suiiki: As long as you do not serve Baka-sama and don't mind dangeryou may travel with me. I am searching for something.
Sascienne:...

Fushigi:

(*shakes head* No, I don't mind if you use her. And yes, she knows somethings about necromancers. Just enough to get by...)

Sascie, taken by surprise, continued to look the girl head to toe. She looked harmless, but then again, looks aren't everything. A thought crossed Sascienne's mind. She began to smell the air around them.

Suiiki: Umm, may I ask why you are sniffing?

Sascie: *thinking* I smell no blood on this human. She can't be the one who attacked that village.

Suiiki: Hello? *begins to wave her hands in front of Sascie's face*

Sascie: *thinking*And she doesn't have demon blood in her.... *aloud* Yes?

Suiiki: You were sniffing. Were you smelling for something?

Sascie: Something like that. *looks up at the nearest tree.* *thinking* But there is something here that isn't suppose to be.

*Sascie stands up, straightens her cloak, and looks back at the tree again. It's presence just didn't feel right. She decided that only time would only pass before she was able to figure out the reason for this feeling, so Sascie sat down across from the Suiiki*

Sascie: What did you mean when you said I wasn't dead?

RandomBum:

(you know.... since i'm a bum.... kinda gonna make this a little bit weird...)

Suddenly, the tree that Sascie was looking at blew up. A person was standing behind it, with a dark aura around him. He started to talk to himself....(he's a bum!)

Bum: Aw... man! Why did they have to kick me out? I just wanted to stay there... Those stupid people and their stupid inns... Now I'm wandering in the middle of this stupid forest. God! Why do they have to make life so hard for me! I'll show them... *stops, looks at Sascie and Suiiki* uh.... who are you?

(yeah... I'm gonna leave it there and let you ppl continue. This is the first rpg i tried... so it sux)

jen:

Megan rode into the village, and noticed that something horrible had happened here recently. Some of the villagers were hard at work cleaning up after whatever it was, repairing buildings, furniture, and the like; and the rest were openly staring at her. She was used to the stares, and ignored them. After receiving her shield two years ago, she got stared at wherever she went. A woman travelling by herself was unusual in these times, and her shield drew a lot of attention as well. People also questioned her skills often, claiming she got her shield by means other than hard work and training.

She continued to ride through the village, and as she approached the village square, she could see a large crowd of people. She reached the square, and dismounted. Tying her horse's reins to a nearby post, she walked over to the crowd. As she approached, the villagers started to whisper among themselves. She ignored the whispers, and concentrated on one villager, who looked to be the Mayor.

Megan: Are you the Mayor of this village?
Mayor: Yes, I am. It is strange for a lady to travel by herself. Who are you, and why have you come here?
Megan: My name is Megan of Alberton.
Villager #1: You're, you're that knight! They say you got your shield by trickery and using magic.
Megan: Then "they" are wrong. I have no magical powers. I rely on my wits and my sword. That's all I need.
*The villagers started to whisper among themselves again.*
Mayor: Whether you earned your shield by honest means *Megan glared at him, and he gulped* or not, we need your help.
Megan: *thinking* Are people always going to question my worth? *out loud* I saw the damage your villagers are trying to clean up. What caused it?
Mayor: A demon.
Megan: It must have been a very strong demon, considering the level of damage.
Mayor: It killed a number of villagers as well.
Megan: Let me see.
Mayor: It's not for a lady to see... *Megan glared at him again* Alright.

The Mayor led Megan towards the crowd, and they went through the crowd to the centre of the square. Megan almost gasped at what she saw. Villagers of all ages, slain by the demon.

Megan: What kind of demon did you say did this? *kneels down next to one of the bodies, and begins to examine it.*
Mayor: It was a dog demon.
Megan: *thinking* These teethmarks are too big to be a dog demon. I wonder what demon actually did this? *out loud* What makes you think a dog demon did this?
Mayor: We found one at the scene of the crime, but she escaped. Please! Hunt down this demon, and destroy it!
Megan: Alright. What does this demon look like?
Mayor: Yay tall, *gives an indication of height* silver hair, has dog ears, and is female.

Megan and the Mayor walked back to her horse. She untied its reins from the post, and mounted it.
Megan: Which way did this demon go?
Mayor: *points into the forest* That way. Please find that demon, and make sure it can't repeat this.

Megan nodded, and kicked her horse into a walk. After she had gotten away from the crowd, she squeezed its sides with her heels, and the horse sped up into a trot. She rode through the village gates into the forest, thinking. She was sure the dog demon wasn't responsible, but if it wasn't the dog demon, what was it?

Emily:

((*cackles* It's long!))

A dazzling summer day; the leafy canopy overhead; the unseen yet audible bird life in full song; a light breeze threading through the young forest; a smooth path trodden underfoot by the sparse travellers; and not another human in sight.
Granted, this particular forest was reputed to be rather a dangerous one to ride through if one possessed gold coins. According to the rumours of the local town, a large number of thieves lurked in the forest, robbing travellers, harassing the poor, and generally causing a disturbance.
Some rumours differed slightly: they said that this was the work of a single person; somebody who possessed demon ancestry as well as dark magic.
Rumours, though, as per usual, were only one-third right: the disturbance was caused by a single soul, but this person was entirely human and lacked any magical powers. In fact, she despised magic with a passion.
As for the first rumour, it was also one-third right: the forest's thief did rob travellers, but by no means did they harass the poor or cause a general disturbance. This person had a deep, profound respect for the nurturing forest and a sympathy for the poor. The thief was by no stretch of the imagination similar to Robin Hood, the famous archer who stole from the rich and gave to the poor: their sympathy was not as deep as their pocket.
Now, on this particular summer day, the thief crouched concealed among some leafery, laying in wait above the main road through the forest. A few had passed the thief by on that day, but none had looked overly rich. The thief was becoming increasingly hungry, though. If the road remained untraversed by the upper-class or those with ample gold, the thief would have to hunt down his (or her) next meal.
As for the appearance of this particular thief? Details were vague, but most agreed on one thing: the thief was female. She wore a cloak and carried a bow and a quiver of arrows, as well as some concealed daggers. Nobody knew of her name, so she had been given the title "Lady Demon Fingers" by the common folk. Strangely enough, this name also carried onto the nobles, most of whom avoided the forest, kept at bay by these rumours.
In actual fact, the thief had a name, though it had not crossed her lips for some months: her name was Nae. There was no last name to match it; even if there was, it had been taken from her long ago.
The position she had set herself up in was actually quite clever. The leafery that she was previously mentioned as hidden among was actually several feet up in the air, attached to the sturdy branch of one of the older trees of the forest. She was perched on the bough, which stretched out across the road, ready to spring upon an unwary traveller.
The usual method in which she operated was this: Lady Demon Fingers would silently drop onto the back half of the traveller's horse (or wagon), draw one of her concealed daggers and hold it to her victim's neck with one hand, and use the other to throw their weapon to the ground, assuming they were armed.
Perhaps, if her next victim was rich, she would purchase some new clothes. She was a young woman now, the serf child's clothes she wore were getting rather small for her, so much so that her cloak often kept them out of sight for the sake of modesty, as well as hiding her daggers (there were three in total, all hidden ingeniously).
Her attention span wandering slightly, she began to play with her leather bracer, a recently pilfered item, replacing her old, worn one. She idly flicked it, generating enough noise to be detected by human ears from several metres away.
Suddenly, though, she was pulled back into line when she heard the distant footfalls of a horse. From the sound of it's hooves upon the dirt road, she judged it to be quality, and carrying something fairly light: certainly not the clunky knight in plate armour she was hoping for. That was a charger coming towards her for certain, though. The horse was of no use to her, though: the best she could ride was her Shetland pony, who was tethered offroad some distance away, grazing peacefully.
The rider swung into view, and much to Nae's surprise, turned out to be female. She was not a Lady of any sort, nor would she be a peasant (whoever heard of a peasant riding a charger around?). Judging by the upright seat she held, she had been trained in horseriding. Oddly enough, the shield this woman gripped bore no banner, so her origin could not be identified by that. She was one of the rare female knights.
Quickly, detecting the jingle of gold coins among the jingle of her mail, Nae drew her dagger. A lady knight? Armed only with a sword? No dagger? No spear? No lance? No axe? No bow? This would be easy! And all she wore was chain mail under her shirt! Hah! This would be an easy robbery, surely!
Gripping her dagger in her mouth, Nae rubbed her hands together delightedly and grinned, exposing rows of even, oddly white teeth. The woman didn't even have a squire or yeoman with her. The Lady Luck was obviously smiling upon the thief today.
The soft-target knight drew nearer, trotting her charger at a fairly brisk pace. Now that she was even closer, Nae was able to see her facial expression. She was determined, evidently looking for something. Well, whatever she was searching for was going to elude her for awhile longer.
Was Nae ready? Well, there was no time to run through a checklist, the lady knight was coming nearer; it was nearly time to jump, and what luck! She hadn't been noticed. The element of surprise was with her.
In the last instant, Nae gave herself up to instinct; no amount of calculating would help her now, she had to let her experience take over. The timing had to be precise, otherwise she would end up falling behind or under the charger's hooves: the latter guaranteeing death, the former making her discovery likely and apprehension almost certain.
As if being pulled along by some forest spirit, she suddenly sprang lightly from her vantage point and dropped down, her light frame thudding against the back of the horse and making little noise. The charger, surprised by the new rider, did what one would expect horses typically to do: he whinnied loudly and reared upon his hind legs, trying to buck the new arrival.
Gripping the animal tightly between her knees, Nae and the lady knight were both lucky not to fall off. With some skill, Megan managed to bring the war-horse under control. The instant this happened, though, she felt something and narrow pressed against the front of her neck, and was suddenly aware of the person behind her. A thief!
"Your gold, if ye please," the thief whispered hoarsely into her left ear, reaching for the lady knight's sword at the same time, "else your life..."

Me:

Suiiki stared at the new arrival, confused. There was something strange about this bum...

Suiiiki: Umm...Who are you?
Bum: I asked you first.
Suiiki: My name is Suiiki now who are you?
Bum: I'm a bum.
Suiiki: *Gorwing annoyed* Well I can see that but what is your name?
Bum: People just call me Randombum.
Suiiki: Well then Randombum, what do you want?
Suiiki was gettting annoyed quickly, but she tried to keep her appearance cool. She knew better than to get angry when she was meeting someone for the first time. Before Randombum could answer Sascie began sniffing again.
Suiiki: What is it?
Sascie: I don't know.
Suiiki's death sense twitched and she swore.
Suiiiki: I do...*Turning quickly and drawing her sword at the same time, she braced herself for the atttack. A dead creature came running at an inhuman pace down the path and collided with a magical barrier Suiiki put up. Disolving the barrier, Suiiki spoke* Tell me why you have returned, Elisa. I banished you deep into death weeks ago.
Elisa: I have returned...To finish what I started! *She attempted to attack, but Suiiki ran her sword through the creature's middle*
Suiiki: Don't be foolish, Elisa. Even one of your power and cunning cannot fight the power of a Bell for long. *Suiiki drew Dyrim and Saraneth and prepared to ring the bells, but was knocked to the ground, luckily the bells both fell into piles of forest debris and were silenced before they could ring*
Elisa: Foolish wench, You cannot silence and bind me this time, Suiiki.
Suiiki: I am no fool. *Elisa used the power she obtained in Death to render Suiiki immobile, and rasied the young necromancer's sword over her head for the killing strike...*

Fushigi

Sascie drew her sword just as Suiiki froze.

Sascie: Lovely time to lose your head, eh?

Sascie grabbed Suiiki around the waist, dragging her away from the demon's newly found blade. She threw Suiiki towards Randombum, and slipped into her father's fighting pose.

Sascie: Now. Who the hell are you?
Elisa: This is none of your business, woman! Now get out of my way.
Sascie: No. I don't like beings killing others for pleasure.

A little voice sounded in Sascie's head: And what have you been doing all your life? Aren't you tracking down the being that killed your mother... for pleasure?
Sascie: No, pleasure and revenge are two totally different things.
Voice: Are you sure?
Sascie: No. But one can never be sure in life.

Elisa: Get out of my way!!!

Elisa tried to bring her blade down on Sascie's shoulder, but Sascie was to smart for that. She brought her blade up, blocking the blow, and threw her leg out, tripping the foul-smelling being. Sascie placed the tip of her blade against Elisa's pale throat.

Sascie: Like I asked you before. Who the hell are you?

Me:

Elisa grinned evilly, or rather, made a face as close to a grin as her dead flesh would allow.
Elisa: You cannot slay me with that sword, woman. I am not of this life anymore.
Sascie pressed the sword a little deeper into the creature's throat, but not deep enough to cut any normal human's skin. The sword, however, peirced the creature's throat with a squish.
Sascie: What do you mean? *Thinking: Swords aren't supposed to go squish when they cut. And that much pressure shouldn't have cut her skin*
Suiiki, once again able to move since Elisa's concentration on her had been broken, stood and spoke.
Suiiki: Elisa *was* my traveling partner, until we seperated at a little village several miles to the south. She had gone her own way, to find a lost family heirloom, and I had continued on my journey to fufill my mission of finding and destroying baka-sama, once I become strong enough. We met again three days later...She'd been killed and then raised again, and her sole purpose was to slay me. She had a free tongue, even in death, so I had silenced her with Dyrim to keep her from distracting me, then bound her with Saraneth to make sure she would not attepmt to resist Kibeth and the call of Death. But it was well past midnight when I finally overpowered her, and I could not follow her to the Edge in my condition, or I would have fallen off the Bridge, and literally drowned in my own fears and sorrows. Now she has returned.
Sascie's eyes narrowed
Sascie: So you are a necromancer?
Suiiki: NO! I am not a necromancer. I shan't ever return to the days of my past! *Embarrasssed by her sudden outburst, Suiiki lowered her voice* I'll take over now. *Retrieving Saraneth and drawing Kibeth, Suiiki spoke to Elisa* Death calls, Elisa. I will follow you to the edge this time. Go to find peace, friend. *She rang the bells, then allowed herself to follow Elisa into Death as far as the Edge, and watched Elisa walk past the veil. She stood there for a moment, to make sure she continued, and then walked back to life and returned to her body. Suiiki Silently packed up her belongings*
Suiiki: you know what I am facing now. And you know what I once was. I cannot tell you any more. If you want to come with me, you are welcome, Sascienne. If not, you may stay here. I will not force anyone to travel with me. And as for Randombum...*Suiiki's voice trailed off, and after a pause she spoke* If I was to allow him to travel with me I would have to know about where he has come from, and what exactly caused him to explode that tree. I cannot travbel with someone who displays such random power and will not tell me from whence it came. With all due respect, of course, sirrah. And besides that, a woman of my age traveling alone with a man would raise questions. And I am not one to be patient with such kinds of questions.

*Suiiki watched Sascie and Randombum for a response, and turned to walk on.*

(OOC: That's where we left off, then. ^^)

(OOC: Sorry that its so short. I've been studying for exams and my brain is dead!!!)

*Sascie looked over her shoulder*

Sascie: *to her self* There is nothing left for you there. She seems nice, and surely she is able to take care of herself. *out loud* I'll come with you.

*Suiiki turned to look at Sascie, who pulled her cloak closer to her.*

Suiiki: Why would you wish to travel with me, even though you know what I was.
Sascie: There is the key word. *Sascie moved closer to Suiiki holding up a hand* Was. You no longer practice the arts? *Suiiki shoke her head* There you see. Besides, you are probably the only being I could travel with.
Suiiki: What do you mean by that?
Sascie: Did you not notice? *pointing to her ears* I am a demon. *seeing Suiiki's hand move towards her sword, Sascie laughed* Like I said I don't like anyone killing for pleasure. And killing you would be for pleasure. Plus, *Sascie looked at her friend's bag* by the looks of things you are able to take care of yourself.

*Suiiki grinned at this comment*

Suiiki smiled and nodded

"All right then. There is a path a little ways back, since Sascienne said she woouldn't go back to the village. Perhaps we can go down that path and begin our journey?"

Sascienne glanced at randombum.

Sascie: *to self* This world is filled with things one would never like to see. *out loud* This path seems fine.

The three of them began to walk down the path, Sascie smelled something. She turned and stared wide-eyed into the dark surroundings.

Suiiki: What is it?

Sascie: I don't know... but its coming this way. And fast. *Sascie nudged randombum and Suiiki behind the nearest tree and climbed into it.* Its human. Stay here...

*Sascie climbed from tree to tree, listening as the human closed in. Just as the human's horse rode up closer to the tree where her two new friends were hiding, Sascie jumped out of the tree in front of the woman rider*

Woman rider: Whoa~ Are you insane?! Trying to kill me? *the woman stopped talking when she saw what Sascie was* You're the dog demon that escaped the village?!

((OOC: :Surrender: Gomen... I admit, I was completely stumped. ^^;;; Now, let's see what I can do here...))

*Megan quickly brought her horse under control, and stared at the dog demon. She had already fought off a thief earlier and retained her money. Now a dog demon stepped out in front of her horse?*
Megan: *mutters* Thieves, dog demons... *sigh* this is definitely not my day.
Sascienne: What did you say?
Megan: Never mind. Are you the dog demon that escaped from the village?
Sascienne: Maybe.
Megan: *stares* The same dog demon that's accused of killing a decent number of villagers, and causing a lot of damage to buildings?
Sascienne: What if I am?
Megan: *draws sword* I have been sent to bring said dog demon to justice. You fit the description I was given. Female, dog ears, yay tall, and silver hair.
*By now Suiiki and Randombum had left their hiding place, and joined Sascienne.*
Sascienne: Not much of a description. ¬¬
Megan: Believe me, it's enough.
Suiiki: What makes you so sure Sascienne's the one you're looking for?
Megan: *points to Sascienne* Your robes. There is still blood on them, and not all of it has dried. Had it been from old battles, all of it would've been dried.
Sascienne: Alright, you got me. *notices Megan sheathing her sword.* You're not going to bring me to justice?
Megan: Why would I bring someone innocent to justice? The teethmarks on those villagers's bodies are bigger than a dog demon's teethmarks.
Randombum: Villagers?
Suiiki: Bodies?
Sascienne: Who are you anyway? That shield you carry indicates that you're a knight, but there is no banner on it. Also, you're traveling awfully light.
Megan: My name is Megan of Alberton. Why my shield has no banner is of no consequence. And who are all of you?
Randombum: I'm Randombum. *points* This is Suiiki, and this is Sascienne.
Megan: *nods* Nice to meet you all.

Suiiki: So, Megan of Alberton. Do you have any idea as to what it may have been that really killed the villagers? *She had an idea, however, she had no evidence to back up her thoughts.*

Megan: Something much larger and stronger than a dog demon.

Sascienne: I know what it was, I saw the creature.

Suiiki: What was it?

((OOC: Short an kinda sucks, but it's the best I could do.))
